This is your typical tourist trap. Let me tell you why...
First of all, that live music might sound appealing and you might want to sit down and enjoy your dinner as you listen some local music. But apparently neighbours are not happy with the live music. Normally if an establishment wants to play music on street they have to get consent of the neighbours but one of the neighbours was shouting all night to stop the music. Do you really think it's appropriate to enjoy your dinner and live music while locaks ate suffering from it?
Secondly, prices are way above the standards of the district. There is many other restaurants in the street that are less pricy and more tasty. Squid/Kalamari I ordered was not cooked and you know it is like leather when its not cooked, impossible to chew and get it down to your stomach.
Thirdly, CHECK THE BILL, they will charge you things that you didn't even have and put it on the check in either Greek or with unintelligible handwriting, which either way is impossible to tell what they put on the check. In my case they charged me a big bottle of water that I didn't even have. If you've ordered numerous dishes, they will probably charge you something more expensive. When I asked, waiter wasn't happy and threw some more coins on the table. Which even then were missing some euros but I didn't want to push any further because I might have ended up in a nasty situation, I know these types of restaurants very well.
Waiters are rude, younger ones are underpaid and not happy to work there, elder ones have been doing this for a while and see tourists as walking wallets ready to be ripped, as they smile you can see insincerity in their eyes.
Overall, I am just very disappointed by this place and it's my mistake by just taking a seat without checking reviews first. Certainly not an example of Greek...
Read moreWith this place being so close to where we stayed, we had a good chance to take a look at the menu and have a few brief but pleasant chats with the greeters outside before we decided to venture out for food after a long day of walking. The atmosphere was nice and peaceful and the most authentically Greek we had encountered in our stay. Our waiter knew basic English which made ordering quite easy. Service was quite quick. Both in receiving water when we sat down and receiving our order - though we were in earlyish for dinner service (around seven). The portions were large enough to happily fill both us adults but we still managed to share a dessert. We were quite surprised at how well priced our total order ended up - especially a large glass of house wine for €2.00. Everything was very nice. We felt at ease the whole time, especially during the live music which started around eight, and never as if we were rushed. We did have to prompt a waiter for our bill but it was given to us shortly after that with a glass of ouzo each on the house. We spent a good few hours there in the end but it was a well spent evening to wind down after a long exhausting day. Would definitely recommend if in the area, especially if you're looking for a big, filling meal at...
Read moreDiscrimination. Forced CASH payment for some diners. We had 3 tables and were forced to pay cash however some of us were allowed to pay by card (The owner decided who). 🤯🤯🤯 It was dictatorial, discriminatory and very unpleasant. He was yelling also. Forcing some people in such a big group to pay cash is simply not acceptable, against consumer rights, and unfair. We all need to pay taxes and whether you are forced to pay cash or not seems to be based on whether you’re Greek or not, or whether a Greek person can influence the owner or not. It’s not acceptable behaviour it's 2023, it’s predatory behaviour preying on tourists or non Greeks who don’t know their rights.
Out of interest the food was also overcooked and cold. One dish was actually sent back to the kitchen inedible. I would really not recommend anyone Greek or not attend this place. It’s extremely bad on all levels. Look at the menu yourself. They offer Chinese wontons at a Greek restaurant, that says it all.
Please don’t get forced into paying cash by these people! Just avoid at all costs there’s so many other nice places all around that have nice warm actually Greek food and don’t try and take...
