The worst experience we had during our vacation in Greece. Ordered the Greek sesame bagel (koulouri) with pork brisket, bacon, cheddar and tomatoes. Between the bagel there was iceberg lettuce, tomato, cucumber and feta- not what I had ordered. My boyfriend ordered omelette with feta and sausage and got some vegetarian omelette with vegetables and mushrooms. We sent our food back. The waitress apologised and said the “kitchen was new”. Didn’t have a problem with that since I have worked at restaurants myself and know that it can go wrong with the orders on a busy day. However, it was not busy on that morning and it looked like we were the only people ordering food. The second time the food arrived, we had waited for an hour. The food looked like nothing I had imagined and at that point I was really disappointed. It was nothing I would’ve expected to be served at a restaurant. I apologised and asked the waitress if I could only pay for my drink. The place looked very nice and is probably fine for drinks but why offer food if your kitchen staff is too overwhelmed to make a sandwich/bagel that at least would look fresh?

Really cool atmosphere at Gyspy Jungle; it's definitely a huge draw for people walking by. At night, there are lights, large plants, and music playing. Colourful art draws the eye. It's among many of the interesting bars lining this street. We actually ended up here for late afternoon drinks and a quick bite. Server/ owner (not sure) was super fun to be around. Joked with us and gave us city recommendations. Eclectic type of bar for sure. It's definitely a fantastic place for drinks. I would recommend a few colourful, fun drinks and move on to another place for food. There are so many options in the area. We had a Pork Koulouri, pictured below: it was okay. I'd go back to share a few drinks, go out with friends, but I'd do food somewhere else.

The worst milkshake that I ever tasted. It was extremely sweet. It seemed that the milkshake was added tons of sugar. The waitress told us that the strawberry milkshake was made from strawberry ice cream and excluded natural strawberries. I couldn't taste the flavor of fresh strawberry at all, but flavor of saccharin which occupied my whole mouth cavity. Even worse, my stomach didn't feel well after drinking half of cup. I managed to not waste food but it was so disappointing and dreadfully sweet that I had to leave half of milkshake. The waitress complained that we should have told them to not add sugar. But I think that a cup of milkshake without natural strawberries is definitely unacceptable. They are deceiving our consumers.

This is the kind of place that gives Athens a bad name. Terrible food and atrocious service. Everything a place could do wrong, they did, and worse.

The place looks gorgeous so I took a seat outside to enjoy the view. There were only 2 other customers. I had a massive smile on my face. I ordered coffee and cake. Both cost double what one might expect to pay but I thought what the heck, I'll enjoy the view. Not 30 seconds later, I received a call from a friend inviting me to to lunch so I asked to cancel the cake. The waitress's smile disappeared and I was told abruptly, it was too late. It was clearly not too late because the waitress, who had scribbled the order on her pad, and who suddenly became unbelievably rude, hadn't yet gone back inside to place the order. Nevertheless, I thought what the heck, I'll enjoy the view.

The coffee took 20 minutes and the cake another 10. The coffee was ok but the cake was awful. I took one bite and left it. Again, I thought what the heck, I'll enjoy the view. Then, as if reading my mind, they re-arranged the outdoor seating, for no apparent reason, blocking my view. This was the last straw. I went inside to pay and they managed to stuff that up too. I am not a local but I am fluent in Greek. They overcharged me and I was forced to show them the prices on their menu and argue with them, before they corrected it. Suffice to say, I did not leave them a tip.

Stay away from this place. It's nice to look at, perhaps to take a picture of, but the food, prices and most of all service, was atrocious. I wish I could give...

My wife and I traveled into Athens and wanted to find a place to have small plates and good cocktails. Gypsy Jungle seemed to be that spot. Once we were seated, our table had a swarm of flies that were constantly around the table. We then asked to be moved and were sat inside. We ordered drinks and food, after ordering we waited 25 mins until the food arrived.

We ordered the jumbo shrimp, shrimp sushi roll, chicken souvlaki, and two water lilly cocktails.

Cocktails- pretty decent.

Jumbo shrimp- under cooked, very over breaded and mushy. Don’t recommend.

Shrimp & Rice Sushi Roll- I actually don’t even know what it was. Truly one of the worst mushy things I’ve tasted with a rubber piece of fried rice shrimp on top of it to top it off. I had one bite and didn’t touch it again.

Jungle Chicken Souvlaki- overcooked, dry, and basically had a side of sweet baby rays bbq sauce to cure the dryness. Do with that as you will.. the upside was that it was the most edible thing.

Even when food is bad I typically still eat it since I paid for it. This place truthfully serves inedible food and made me leave it and order room service at the hotel. The waitress was kind and asked what was wrong when she saw we barely touched the food but offered no remedy or fix and still charged us full price.

To add- the couple next to us also faced the same issues and was speaking with the...

This place has cool decor but that really is the only nice thing about it. We unfortunately were tricked by the beauty and stayed for dinner as well as drinks and were truly disappointed. It was inauthentic and poorly seasoned and really did not justify the price whatsoever. The wait staff all seemed unhappy and overworked. They had 3 front of house staff trying to draw people in, one of which was being really strange and confrontational to one of the other tables. Although our particular server was sweet and tried to accommodate my vegan requests, I was served dry falafel with dry bread without any sauce replacement (they don't make hummus?!). My friend had soggy pizza that looked like it was bought at a supermarket, and the other had "chicken souvlaki" that was just battered fried chicken on a stick. I cannot stress enough how awful the food was. When we complained about the food and that it was vile and overpriced the manager was very angry saying we should have told her before we ate the food (literally impossible??) and refused to take money off because we had eaten some of the food and would only offer another round of drinks. The cocktails were not that nice. A truly odd vibe in this place. Don't be fooled by the decor, honestly not worth it. Especially as there are so many other wonderful restaurants that make truly delicious and authentic food, made with...
