Likely the best thing I’ve eaten in Greece over the past two weeks. Came here based on the reviews. Very unassuming hole in the wall with a friendly owner who does everything fresh. We walked in while he was cutting lettuce. All the meat is cooked over lump charcoal—real fire, which makes a big difference in taste. Nothing was already made. Instead, once you tell him what you want, he prepares it. So you do have to wait a bit for the meat to properly cook over the flame. The sauce he has is delicious. Generous portions. Freshly made fries. And he’ll make it to your preferred spice level. The owner’s English is very good. He’s very friendly. And he clearly cares about the quality of his food. Everyone in my family really enjoyed our pita sandwiches (two chicken, one lamb, and one kebob).

I typically don’t write reviews (especially places I like as I like to gatekeep) but oh my god is this place good! If you’re looking for an authentic greek gyro, this is the spot! Everywhere else, the portions are small and obvious tourist traps but here? You’re getting a big TASTY wrap for just about 4 euros! The chicken is cooked fresh to perfection and the veggies are fresh as well. Plus the owner, Malik, is the sweetest and friendliest man ever! I sat inside and chatted with him. It’s just him running the shop so you can tell he loves his restaurant and what he’s making! You also get the cutest cat laying at the entrance to keep you company! Very greek experience! Thanks again Malik!

Really the best falafel sandwich we had was here!! We stumbled upon this place at 2 am one-time and I was so glad that we did!! The best customer service by the chef!! He was closing, yet he was so kind to reopen his kitchen to cook for us. Very freshly cooked food in front of us!! He let us try his falafel while being cooked. We tried falafel sandwich, fries, spicy salad, feta cheese, etc. Try the spicy salad if you like spicy food!! It was the best!! Many vegetarian and vegan options. Just ask! Also, he replaced his glove for us too!! It’s in the Psiri area. See the pictures for how the front looks. The best spot to eat the best tasting food in Athens hands down!!

This is one of those classic iykyk places. Pure aura. At this cosy hole in the wall joint you’ll find local kebab maestro, one-man-band, Malik, dishing out life changing Gyros’ for €4.50. Right in the heart of Athens.

This is a man who has versed his craft. The Gyros Gandalf. 10,000 hours. Commander of the skewer, loyal servant to the charcoal - and he has had his revenege, on over priced kebab houses and empty stomachs.

Expect to wait. Expect joy. Expect to live, laugh, and to love.

From the moment you step through the door to the moment you finish - Malik has observed every aspect of the journey. A constant feedback loop to refine and perfect the art. The art of Gyros. 7 days a week. If TsiknaBoom is not open one night, call emergency services, because the King is dead. This is what Makes Athens Great Again!

For that reason, it gets 5 TsiknaBoom’s! BOOM! BOOM!...
