Μοma — Restaurant in Athens

Extremely dissapointed. Came here for my first Greek salad and calamari in Greece. I’m Canadian.

The servers paid no attention to me. They stood in front gossiping. I asked for lemon with my water. No lemon.

I ordered the Greek salad, which is the worst Greek salad I have ever had in my life. It’s very bland. There’s no red onions. The feta is whipped so it becomes a creamy salad. The cucumbers are shoestring cut and the cherry tomatoes cut long ways and it just doesn’t make any sense how it’s constructed and there were maybe four tiny tiny olives in the salad which was massive.

I ordered the calamari, which the squid itself was cooked perfectly, but the batter was mush it was not cooked enough, there was no flavour whatsoever not even salt, no tsitziki for dipping, the lemon was dried out and brown. I asked to return it I couldn’t eat it, the server said I would have to pay for it regardless, even if I am not satisfied and it is inedible. So they brought me a new one which makes no sense cost wise they could have just refunded the first one and it would have been the same them. The second came out slightly more cooked but still terribly bland.

The busser guy was very nice and helpful and checked on me. He was running all the food clearing all the tables while the servers stood infront ignoring all of the guests and talking to each other. They were both rude. I hope he gets a good portion of the tips because he is the only one doing any work.

Shame on them for treating people like that.

Would not recommend ever going here. This meal cost me 20 Euros. It was a treat to go out, and I was horribly...

Dining with great company, with a beautiful view of the Acropolis and delicious food…how could you go wrong?

Food: The food is absolutely delicious and without breaking the bank. I would have expected an attractive restaurant like this in a very busy tourist area to have overpriced food, but that wasn’t the case. Prices are modest and food is beautifully prepared and delicious. In the pictures are the Greek Salad (amazing), Mussels with white wine a feta (wow), Pepperoni and sausage pizza (can’t go wrong) and Spinach Pie (delicious).

Service: It started off fine, but this is where a restaurant can mess it up. It was a ver inconsistent single experience. Our Greater which ended up having to complete our dining experience was great. Our Server literally disappeared from our table or forgot we existed, although she was busy with other tables. However I don’t think it was isolated to us, as I witnessed her providing the same lacklustre experience with other tables. For example, the service was great up until receiving out meal, but she never checked on us ever again. I would have liked some more wine or perhaps our plates cleared, or dessert, but we sat there for 30 mins before having to call our Greater to clear our table. We decided to leave and have dessert elsewhere.

Maybe it was that night, maybe it was an off day, but it’s what our experience was. Food was terrific but service was below par. Overall, I’d still highly recommend Moma for your Athens...
