Fantastic Dining Experience at Faka in Chania!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Faka in Chania, located near the port, and I can't express how impressed I am with the overall experience. The service provided by the staff was not only friendly but also incredibly professional, making me feel welcome from the moment I walked in.
The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the food. The high quality of the dishes caught my attention, and what's even better is that the prices were reasonable and didn't break the bank. The freshness and expert preparation of the fish and grill dishes were remarkable. Every bite was a delightful journey of flavors and textures, and it's clear that the chef's expertise shines through.
One standout feature of Faka is their mastery of slow-cooked dishes. These specialties truly stood out and added a unique touch to the meal. It's evident that the chefs take great pride in their craft, as every dish was a testament to their skill and dedication.
To complement the wonderful meal, Faka offers a local Cretan beers. This added another layer of authenticity to the experience, allowing me to immerse myself in the local culture even further.
In conclusion, I am thoroughly impressed by Faka and would absolutely visit again without hesitation. If you're in Chania and looking for a restaurant that offers top-notch service, exceptional food quality, and an array of delicious options, Faka should be at the top of your list. A heartfelt thank you to the team for providing such a memorable...
Read moreWe came here in 2018 and made our way back as we enjoyed it so much. We were apprehensive at first as the building, and menu, have had a major overhaul.
We chose with some trepidation as the menu we were expecting was traditional greek; fritters, cheese balls, vine leaves etc. which is what we had previously (and it was divine!). The new menu seems to be 'elevated greek' with lamb and feta, spring rolls with a greek filling and overall, a more adventurous, fusion style, menu.
We ordered a selection of starters and one main as we were sharing. We ordered fried potatoes (think roasties not chips). Spring rolls with shrimp (divine). Courgette fritters (perfect). Finally, we ordered the lamb and feta. I was pleasantly surprised as I tend toward home cooking over fine dining, but everything was brilliant.
This is definitely one of the pricier options for lunch, but honestly, go treat yourself, even to just one or two dishes. It's a beautiful spot tucked just away from the main harbour, it is so peaceful. The food is lovely, the service is great. You will have a lovely...

The service was amazing and the people kind and quick. I went on a day that was not as busy and was able to get a table right away. I ordered the octopus which for the price I felt was a little sparse. I don't usually eat large amounts but left that meal feeling a bit hungry still. Which is unfortunate. I also ordered the house wine which was ok but not my favorite. The plate of grapes at the end was lovely and refreshing and the raki was.. well it's raki so, it was intense. Not the best raki I have had here, but not the worst.
My favorite part was the cat that is obviously a frequent window sitter.
Overall, if you're looking for a place on the port, it's better than some of the places and when the wind picks up, it's more protected than right...
