Based on two visits in mid-August 2020

TL;DR: food is good, service could be better.

Long version: I like the location: conveniently located just outside the main tourist trap areas, and squeezed in a small street with overhanging flowers and old buildings, you get a touch of authentic Greece. It could almost be called romantic. Waiters quickly pull you in, white linen on the tables, some bottles of water, toasted Rhodes pita and bread, some olives and a good olive oil while you are having a look at the menu. I like that.

Excellent starters, best tzatziki I had on the island so far (and I tried a lot). The seafood was very fresh and good (fresh calamari, huge shrimps, lovely), and the steaks are well prepared on the grill. Gyros is up to par, and the cheese Nagasaki is nice. The meat balls were outstanding... Oof those fresh dolmadakias.. They are great. Gotta try to make that at home.

Staff could be better. Kitchen staff doesn't serve all guests at once: oven dishes are standard served 10 mins later. why don't you put those in the oven first so to have everything ready at once? Now 1 person needed to wait without food for 10 minutes while everyone was waiting, food getting cold? Visited two times and think there is room for improvement. They have difficulty in taking away empty glasses, so our whole table got fuller and fuller: guys why don't you see our struggle here? and I don't like that they were presenting us the main courses while we were still finishing the starters. Also, they are not asking for refills by themselves, you have to ask. You can make much more money on drinks by just asking us guys! Especially with a table of six persons!! And when you finally order drinks, they often give you not what you ordered (experienced this three times in two visits).

The food is definitely not the cheapest (€165 for 5 starters, 5 main courses and some soft drinks), but as the quality was good, still acceptable. Toilets could be a bit cleaner, and could not be locked from the inside.

3 stars, if service is improved a solid 4,...

Really disapointed! This visit to the tavern was a total disappointment. Firstly, with difficulty the waiter deigned to give us a table, there were only 2 of us. Secondly, the service was terribly slow, we sat for at least half an hour, even without bringing us at least water and drinks. But the worst thing was that they forgot to bring escalope dish and included it in the bill. We hardly managed to defend our case that they simply didn’t bring it to us. And waiter insted of admiting her mistake she insisted that she brought it to us. It was terribly humiliating to argue and prove. We have no problem paying and we ordered 110 euros for two people, which is not so little. Plus, the escalopes, which they would not have brought to us, would have been 130. Obviously, we are not one of those people who have difficulty with payment, but outraged by the arrogance and unprofessionalism of the staff. Mood and evening ruined. Plus, I want to note that the attitude towards the Greeks is much better than towards tourists. A couple of Greeks who came later than us. They immediately brought water and ouzo. They also put a separate table for drinks. They also got their order pretty quickly. And at the end of their dinner they were brought fruits and sweets, as is usually the case in Greek taverns. They just paid almost no attention to us, and of...

We called at 7pm to book a table for 8.45pm. As soon as we arrived there, it took the waiters 5 minute to notice us, and another 5 to actually get us seated. We were given menus and we decided what plates to order. We kept flagging the waiters but we had to wait 45 minutes for someone to come and collect our orders - in the mean time, the people sitting next to us had not only already ordered but also started eating, despite having arrived 15 minutes later compared to us. We told the waiter the plates we've chosen, and he told us they were not available (despite them being on the menu) and that we had to order the same dish for the both of us, with its price being higher than what's written on the menu. When I asked him why no one told us about this when we got seated, the waiter did not give me an explaination and instead insisted on having me order the same dish as my boyfriend. We decide to leave and, as I am compalining to the waiter about the terrible service we had experienced he kept asking me if 'I was done [complaining]'. I have never met such a rude staff nor have I ever been treated this badly in a restaurant. Terrible experience,...

We visited this place during low season. We were not expecting much because it was low season and the choices of restaurants in the Old Town was limited - most of the restaurants are closed. Surprisingly, we enjoyed our visit. The service was fast and efficient and the food was good. We went back 3 times - after trying the other restaurants in the area that was open . We liked it the most in the Old Town. For our multiple trips, we had fried baby squid- cooked well and it was crunchy (no alioli sauce but lemon served on the side) mussels - cooked well, octopus with white sauce (this took longer to prepare, would have appreciated the advise that it takes longer to prepare when we ordered it). Fried small fish - fresh catch of the day. I am used to eating small fish - the whole thing including head, bones and tail as long as it is cooked properly - crunchy! Clams - very fresh! I have learned my lesson when ordering seafoods - ask how much always. Prices are subject to cost of items when bought and prices may surprise you. This avoids problems when bill is requested. If you are in the Old Town and you want seafoods, check out this place

Was kann man an Pommes falsch machen? We arrived in Rhodes hungry. After a long search, we found this restaurant/taverna that looked nice from the outside. The service staff were friendly, the ambience was right. That's why we felt comfortable at first. We ordered 2 tzatziki with pita bread, a small Greek salad, pasta with mussels (after we asked whether the pasta was made with tomato sauce or white wine sauce, they said white wine sauce) and a gyro plate. We received our tzatziki, pita and salad relatively quickly. The tzatziki was great and tasty, except for the shoe-sole pita bread, which crumbled and was almost impossible to understand. We had barely started when the main course arrived, surprisingly. The pasta had a very strange aftertaste. Many people are probably thinking: it has mussels in it, but no. It was something else. Unfortunately, it also came, as previously explained: with a watery tomato sauce! Why? Even! The gyro plate also came with the spectacular pita bread. Inedible and dry. There were also the fries. What can you do wrong with fries? I am 100% sure that they were fried a second time. Simply overly crispy and rancid. We described our experience in this restaurant to the lady who served us. She listened very sincerely and you could tell that she was interested in the matter. Until she finally dragged in the, I assume, head of service. He reacted noticeably angrily and denied it. So I don't recommend this place to anyone.
