Such a disappointment; the service this evening was chaotic. People who sat down after us were served before us. We had to wait ages to place our order. Another couple stood up and walked out. Waiting staff were arriving in the seating area carrying plates of food but not knowing which table they were for, and there were children around 12 years old waiting at tables. Employees were shouting to each other across the garden and leaning over the railings right beside us to yell requests to the kitchen below. No-one came to ask if everything was OK (probably because they feared the answer) although actually the food was good. We had the 10-dish meze including a litre of passable house wine.
On the way out we spoke to the head chef (who had taken our reservation the previous day) and he confirmed our suspicion, that a key person was off sick. Unfortunate on several counts of course, but a little more front-of-house management would have made such a difference. My opinion is that if you don’t have enough staff to provide an excellent service to all your tables, you should be prepared to turn away casual arrivals and give a smaller number of clients a good...
Read moreOne steake came out well-done instead of the ordered medium-rare and after managing to get a waiters attention we ordered a replacement Which came 20-30 min later and was medium-well. The final stake was good if you prefer medium-well The (spicy) pork stew was by no means spicy, though the chef may have looked at a chilli while making it but that's about it The vegetarian musaka was quite good. The pancetta was okay, but half of it was inedible from either cartilage or tendons. On the side of the appetizers. The garlic bread was just a baguette with one side dipped in oil and covered in cheese The ntako was massive but the only flavor that survived it was the seasonings that covered the tomatoes to the point you couldn't taste the tomatoes. The crab salad was tiny and had too much vinegar on it. Service was slow but when they were talking with you they were kind...
Read moreI visited this restaurant 3 years ago and I fell in love with it. So naturally, this summer, after 3 years ago I wanted to eat here again.
We ate seafood. Portions got smaller, and prices went up. Pity. Please order "kalamarakia tiganita" (friend calamari) , you will get 1 calamari chopped into 5 rings. 1 calamari!
Then, please order "simiako". This portion was kid's size.
All this was in the menu as "Main dishes", not starters
Waiters did not ask at all "is everything OK?". If they did, I would have told them my honest opinion: you have reduced the value for the price ratio.
The ambient is beautiful and that's what's attracting many people. That's obvious.
Tourists will love it, because they don't know what you normally get when you eat in Greece.
But unfortunately I will not come again. I dislike kid's size portions...
