I booked this place the day before I left Sitia Crete. I had ferry tickets from Sitia to Rhodes and hoped to get to Marmaris Turkey from Rhodes City. I wanted to stay in the old town and picked out Khristinas' place from the reviews here--so happy that I did. Booking only the day before I was worried about transport from the ferry port--but there he was--Kristinas's husband--I apparently misheard his name, so he will only be called husband--meaning no disrespect--he got me to the hotel within minutes. And oh my, what a beautiful courtyard to have some food and beer--also an upper deck and gorgeous balconies--I am old with a bad back and bad knees and at first I was concerned about stairs--but like everything else the attention to detail is astonishing--places to grab are located perfectly. I was only there 2 nights--I did spend 6 hours touring the old city which was fun--but the time at Kristina's enjoying the lovely facility was the highlight. Oh and thanks as well to her 2 sons who waited on me and booked and printed out a ferry ticket the next day to Marmaris. I was again timely, easily (and I must add, economically) transported by husband to the port. Also, I had a lovely conversation the last evening with Kristina about her family (as I understand it Husband is responsible for all the beautiful plants) and the challenges they have faced running a family run hotel during global financial crisis--the last being...
Read moreWant a wonderful experience in old Rhodes? You must come here! The staff and atmosphere and rooms were such an experience to not forget! We will be back because we had such a great experience. I hope with our review it doesn’t get overbooked. I highly recommend getting the hotel driver to meet you at the airport to be able to drive into the old fort area. Taxis are not allowed in. Kristina’s has a wonderful old world charm with updated facilities that help you have a wonderful experience. We even took the breakfast in the morning, simply perfect Greek selection of fruit, yogurt, Greek salad, bread (sweet and savory), great coffee selections, etc. Make sure to come back and test out their afternoon selections to eat! A full lunch menu… fresh off the grill. Anna Kristina is a wonderful host and we hope to enjoy future good moments...
Read moreWe were staying about 30 metres away in a gorgeous property. We walked by Kristinas 4 or 5 times, stared in the gate, and thought "not much is happening". Last night in Rhodes I thought "I don't want to walk far home, let's give this place a go." Boy, am I an idiot. Why didn't I walk in the first time? "Oasis, hidden gem, must visit". Phrases used too often but all apply to Kristinas. The waiter and chef are brothers. There is an oasis courtyard and a rooftop terrace if the weather is right. The service is so friendly, the food so good (possibly the best mushroom I've ever eaten). I really can't rate this place highly enough. At the time of writing it had a 4.8 google rating. It deserves that and more. Must visit, do yourself a favour....I'm running out of superlatives. I'll be back (and it takes me 30 hours...
