We booked into Minos Pension based on what we saw and other people’s reviews here and on other sites. We had a late arrival but we were met by Minos’s father John who showed us to our room and explained how the aircon etc worked, also cold drinks in the fridge as a welcome were very much needed. |We had a studio room with shared balcony. The room was perfectly big enough for us two, the beds we found were extremely comfortable and there’s plenty of hanging/drawer space. Small but very good en-suite, always plenty of hot water too. The rooms are comfortably furnished and we found perfectly adequate for our needs. They’re cleaned daily and we had clean towels/sheets every couple of days. |Minos and team are really welcoming and friendly, Patricia is Wonder Woman, helping with breakfasts, cleaning, cooking in the evening, booking our taxi. You ask and the whole team will go out of their way to try and help you. |Now that roof terrace and that view - wow! Breakfast everyday and any other times you choose, it’s beautiful in the evening as the sun sets and the lights of Old Town come on!! |The pension is set in a quiet area but just minutes from the busier streets. We loved Omirou to walk along and then veer off along one of its side streets towards the centre. |There’s a garden as you enter the Pension which also has some tables so you can sit in the shade and relax. The Pension sign says the best view in Old Town and we truly think it is as it’s just about the highest roof terrace due to its placement in the town. |The pension offers a good menu, we ate at the pension for breakfast and on three evenings, the food is very good and typical generous Greek portions - you’ve been warned! ||Looking forward to returning to Minos Pension. |Photos of the view from the terrace, the Pension entrance and garden seating and one of the many streets to wander nearby...
Read moreThe view was really nice. That alone got 1 star more from me. The cocktails are really strong in alcohol wise speaking. You taste first the alcohol in the cocktails and maybe something else after it. And that isn't the way cocktails should taste like. If you think that they should taste only alcohol you haven't tasted good cocktail. We ordered also chicken baguette and turkey club sandwich. The club sandwich was good but in my opinion the chicken baguette would have been much better with tiny bit of mayo or something to moisten it. We also ordered coke and fresh orange juice. Almost half of the orange juice in the glass was pulp with foam and rest pulp with juice. I mean there was insane amount of pulp in it. Every where else i have gotten much less pulp when ordered fresh orange juice. Made me think that maybe they didn't have those oranges that you use for mainly making juice? Now i would say it was in overall ok. Service was nice and you didn't have to wait too long to pay when you went straight to...
Read moreMy favourite view in Rhodes! If you fancy a break from the busy activity of the old town and you are looking for a peaceful location with a stunning view...here it is! It's just a simple no-frills bar and just serves drinks with a basic food menu. BUT, it has one main outstanding feature - the view. When I first got to the top of those stairs my jaw dropped. From here you can see across the whole of the town including the palace, the harbour and even up to the acropolis (behind you) in the distance. It appears that not many tourists are even aware that this place exists. I cannot recommend this enough! Location: The bar sits over some apartments and is accessible via two flights of stairs (see photo). To find them, walk through the entrance to the apartments. Comments: I have seen one review which moans about the fluttering canopy making a bit of a noise. I think that comment is exremely harsh since this is one of the highest points in Rhodes old town and there is a...
