Can't comment on the rooms as we didn't stay here. This review is purely based on the awful dining experience we had here today.
Rhodes is known for its beautiful beaches and vibrant culinary scene, so we were eagerly anticipating our meal at this seemingly popular restaurant. The charming ambiance and bustling crowd initially filled us with optimism, but the experience quickly turned sour. Our order of souvlaki, a classic Greek dish we'd been looking forward to, arrived disappointingly undercooked. Despite returning it, the replacement was just as raw, leaving us questioning the kitchen's competence. It was disheartening to encounter such a basic culinary mishap in a place renowned for its food.
The rest of the meal failed to redeem the initial disappointment. The portions were noticeably small, leaving us feeling unsatisfied. The cheese balls, which we'd hoped would be a highlight, were more like bite-sized snacks, and the tzatziki lacked the vibrant flavors we associate with this quintessential Greek dip. It was thin and watery, a far cry from the creamy, garlicky goodness we craved.
As we left the restaurant, we couldn't help but feel a sense of disappointment and frustration. We'd hoped for a memorable meal in Rhodes, but instead, we were left with a bad taste in our mouths, both literally and figuratively. It's a reminder that even in a tourist hotspot, it's crucial to do your research and not rely solely on appearances. We learned a valuable lesson that day: sometimes the most alluring restaurants can serve the most...
Read moreWe stumbled across this place after a quick walk around Rhodes town before we went to the airport. We were essentially pulled into the bar/restaurant by a man standing on the street. I have read other reviews saying that this upset some people but myself and my partner found this incredibly amusing and it did add to the family and welcoming feel that I am sure they were trying to achieve. Within minutes of seating we were asked what we would like to drink and eat and struck up conversation with a lady (I believe was the owners wife) who offered me a book mark as she saw I had just bought one. I thought this was a nice touch and was thoughtful. Additionally, the waitresses who were working were very polite and chatty and we had a lengthy chat about her recent travel to London. We only had time for a quick snack and some drinks. My boyfriend ordered a €3 beer which as a Brit was amazing value and I ordered an ice tea which was also good value and in an incredibly large glass. The food we had was hot and delicious and I only wish we had time to try more of the food on offer. The location is lovely and feels authentically Greek! If I come back to Rhodes this will be the first place I come to...
Read moreMe and my friend we're stranded with out a place to stay , the hotel we booked was a disgusting and by grace of God we came across this beautiful charming Greek family owned restaurant. We can't not thank you enough Amalia for the Empathy/Understanding and kindness you gifted us. Even the thought the restaurant was closed they let us stay with them unfortunately all there rooms was booked. But They gave us emotional support when we needed it the most. Amalia went out of her way to ring us many hotels for us to stay with help of her son and daughter we managed to find a place near by at the old town. Amalia gave us free drinks on the house and I highly recommend the cocktails are delicious. Next day we came back for the food, my Italian friend who is usually a critic about everything was highly impressed how excellent and tasty food is at Mango's . I found the food to be super tasty and I rate this restaurant 10/10 , excellent service and...
