La doze — Restaurant in Municipality of Thessaloniki

I was there a few days ago after being a little frustrated with non fitting bar recommendations for me from the internet. When I passed the street I followed the volume of the people and the music and felt like this seems like a good place to be. When I saw the signs and friendly stickers I felt welcomed which was the general tone of the entire bar.

After walking in I was welcomed by smiling bartenders and in general BEAUTIFUL people. I had a good chat with Gianni the first day and when I came back the next day it was a much bigger blast. Funny interactions, people being happy and smiling all along, good recommendations for drinks, getting taken care of by filling up my water without any hesitation (which might be a culturak difference from Germany to Greece, yet I still appreciate it a lot) and so much more.

I enjoyed the music which was heavily bass influenced that day (and as a bass player myself I can only applaude to that haha) as well as the drinks! The bartenders experimented when having time and just fooled each other, which from the outside seemed like a wonderful team that not only works together but enjoys each others company.

I'm usually a silent bar enjoyer that observes people and their attitude a lot. That said: I have never been more caught, immersed and hypnotized/entranced in a simple people connecting space like this.

Put into perspective that I am not a typical bar person that enjoys an everyday beer with a friend. Next point is that I'm highly romanticising everything I saw because it felt so amazing, so if any of that sounds off or unreal to the people that are reading this: It is my personal experience with this bar after having a 4 day short vacation in Greece and it's not a universal experience everyone has to have. Depending on the attitude/hopes/wishes/feelings you go into the bar with, you will find other topics that you keep an eye on and you will most likely find other areas in the field to talk about, which is really important!

A cozy modern bar with a lot of local customers . I visited the bar a Thursday night. The bar was busy but not backed. Just very ok . A nice bar in the centre of the city. The music is very nice and sometimes a guest DJ takes over. Very crowded place especially on a Friday or Saturday, or when an event is held.
