As some have mentioned, this place is a nice change of pace from the regional flavors. So this review will be a bit bias
We had the papaya salad, Tom yum koong, red curry and pad thai. To drink we had the Thai tea and pina colada smoothie
The Papaya salad was not very good. It was cut too thick and none of the flavours melded well.
The tom yum koong was tasty but not very spicy. It didn't have the kick it should have but it is understandable for this region.
The pad thai was made with tamarind and really hit the spot. I wish the flavours were deeper but it was still good nonetheless. Again, spice levels were a bit low but still okay.
The red curry was really good. A decent level of spice and good flavours. A bit less coconut milk could have made it even better but that is my personal taste.
The stars for me were the Thai tea and thr pina colada smoothie. The tea was refreshing and not too sweet. The smoothie was made with fresh pineapple and was really tasty.
With what I've written so far may not seem like a 5 star review; however, the reason for 5 stars is that the food was really good an probably the only place in Oia that is different.
I do not recommend coming here to have the best thai food you'll ever have. I do recommend coming for good thai food and a...
Read moreMy Thai wife was having a craving for Thai lunch so we stopped here. I have lived „commuting“ between Thailand and Canada for 15 years and love to go to markets, cook fresh Thai food myself when outside the country. I am trying to be helpful here, recognize that everyone has different taste and opinion. The Tomyum was actually tasty. The springrolls huge. However, the pineapple fried rice, one of my favorite dishes was quite inedible: too greasy and shrimps had an off taste. With the amazing seafood around here available I thought also maybe it would be great to feature local ingredients in Thai preparations. Such as grilled local squid, local seabass dishes prepared in Thai style methods or some such thing. The ambience is nice. Location great, service friendly. It could definitely be kicked up a notch with some imagination…. Well, I give it three stars because I am never happy to leave a restaurant feeling I have had so much better at home. But given the positive reviews, I recognize that many people enjoy the food here. So I don’t recommend anyone avoid this...
Read moreFavorite in Oia. We were looking for a break from the usual restaurants along our Greece travels, very happy to find Asian cuisine at the fitting Paradox. Went there twice in a 5 day stay. They don't have a "Santorini view" but it's far made up for by their amazing food, fair prices, only 13 euro for 1 Liter carafe of wine, and great ambiance and music (acoustic covers). It also wasn't crowded, maybe bc it's not in the densest part of tourists' path or it was early in season (early May), or people weren't ready for a break from the typical menus out there yet.
Between the 6 dishes my husband and I had, we loved them all - curry, satay, 2 noodle soups, chow mein, and a unique take on rangoons. We were traveling with my family at the time and my brother went there another 3 times during his week stay after we told him about it.
Worth a stop and worth breaking from the...
