We spotted this place by all the empty tables from a distance and we were so hungry that we didn't take this as a warning sign. The view from inside was beautiful from most seats but we weren't allowed to sit in any of the nice tables since we arrived at 6:56pm and the nice spots were booked up from 7pm onwards. Fair enough. We were hungry so it didn't matter quite as much.
They asked if we wanted a baby chair and I said 'yes'. They brought us what looked like a very old bar stool with back and arm rests. No front bar or leg bar or straps. It was made of very light wood and sat so high at the table that there would be no way for baby to sit comfortably at the table if she didn't fall out of it or push against the table knocking her and the chair over first.
The biggest disappointment though, was the food. This is clearly one of those food-is-art places but failed on both fronts as it wasn't attractive or good and the portions were mind bogglingly small. There was no indication from the menu that we were ordering from an appetizer menu and this was barely large enough to qualify even for that.
My 6 year old who was starving and loves Quinoa and vegetables had the quinoa and beans with lentil puree. What she got was a portion around 1/6th the size of Lidl's €1.49 quinoa salads with a few green leaves on it. I was trying to figure out where the lentil puree fits in and realized that it was the 3 decorative dots on the plate less than the size of a penny. She took one bite and said it was horrible and couldn't eat any more. I tried a bite and it was far too vinegary. The baby had a little but even she didn't like it. I don't remember what my husband ordered but it didn't resemble anything edible. Still, he ate it and lived. His verdict, also horrible. I ordered the spinach balls stuffed with rice. Mine was actually good, all two bites of it. They gave me two testicle sized balls in some sort of foam. Really. My daughter asked if she could try one because it looked so much better than what she had and the poor kid was still hungry. Since she's gluten intolerant, I asked the woman who worked there if it's also gluten free. She said "Yes" I asked if she is sure and she nodded and enthusiastically repeated her "yes". I told my daughter that she could have one and put one on her plate and she was so happy. Before she could take a bite, the chef came out of the kitchen and said that it is not gluten free. Thankfully my daughter didn't take a bite but what the hell? I had to take it away from her and she didn't say anything she was so upset.
For 3 dishes and a bottle of table water, we paid €51. We felt like we wasted an hour of our lives and a lot of money since we all left just as hungry as we arrived. To top it off, all of the tables with view we requested when we arrived remained empty the entire time...
Read moreWe went on a one day trip to Santorini from Crete, now we know that a few hours in Oia and Thira is not enough! We were 5 adults and 3 children, very tired thirsty, so we thought to stop for some drinks. The waitress at first was a bitt weird and confused, we just asked for the drinks menu, and even though the restaurant had only 2 guests, it took her some time, our time in Oia had to be 1and a half our in the town so by the time we took a walk until the restaurant we kind of had to had back! So eventually the young lady arriwed with the menu and we decided to order 2 big bottles of water which price wise was 15€ and the young lady started shouting and being very rude that this is not enough order for 8 people, and we keep the seats busy, I explained we would only stay for 5 minutes, because the kids are thirsty, and we don’t have time to stay all the bus trips stay a short while on the island, she rudely say she will have to ask, by this time we just stood up and left, so all this left us a sour taste in our mouth without even eating,I have never felt so humiliated, no matter where you go, respect should be the main factor especially in services! I don’t recommend to anyone, and I do intend to go back on Santorini but I will for shore evoid...
