The team at Havana have curated an incredible evening dinner experience. We made our reservation a few weeks in advance, and we are very glad we did. We included that we were celebrating our honeymoon in the online booking, and the hostess knew that and congratulated us upon checking in! Also, the group behind us did not have a reservation and were told that they might be able to come back and be seated at 8:30pm. Our table was in a lovely front corner of the restaurant, and they included a card from the whole staff congratulating us on our honeymoon!!! The initial treat and bread brought to us were so lovely. The apricot treat was a nice touch, and the bread plate and accompanying spreads was delicious. We wanted the recipe for the black bean spread and the spicy chili oil and butter were also incredible. The wine book is unparalleled - we were clearly over our heads in the 70+ pages but also with the combination of entrees we wanted to order. The sommelier heard our request for red but pairing with the seafood and lamb chops and recommended 2 specific bottles. We picked one of his recommendations and it was truly perfect for the soups and 2 entrees. While we enjoyed the seafood chowder, we can’t say enough amazing things about the curried pumpkin soup! We know we’ll never achieve its greatness, but we want to try to make it ourselves. It was creamy and delicious and had just the perfect blend of spices. On to the entrees - both were the perfect portions - we even took some in a to-go container. The seafood paella had so much seafood of so many varieties as well as the chorizo! One of the best paellas we’ve ever had. And the lamb was buttery and almost melted in our mouths. Cooked to perfect and we took the chef’s recommendation of medium rare. Dessert - the blueberry bread pudding was utter perfection. We took the pumpkin flan back with us to our B&B. We can’t say enough about the friendliness of the entire staff team and the amazing food and experience the provide. If you’re in Bar Harbor, it’s a must go to. We will be back someday!

Dining here was the MOST SPECIAL experience during our visit to bar harbor! The food was amazing, in particular the seafood paella was beyond expectations! We also got a summer salad that was very special. The bread and spread portion was amazing, and I loved that there was a savory and sweet option — my partner still dreams about the blueberry cornbread. Service was amazing, with the server being very attentive and making us feel welcomed. We came the day before our planned dining reservation as we had to unexpectedly leave bar harbor early for work, and they remembered I had left a note that it was for our anniversary — so they managed to remember this detail and a very nice happy anniversary note was waiting at our table when we sat down, despite being a day early. These people are PROFESSIONALS and will make sure your dining experience is special. We will be returning here every time we visit Acadia now, and we come back to this as our favorite dining part of our vacation to Acadia! Small critiques; the seasonal spritz had a wonderful scent, but it was very one note — sour, not necessarily in a good way. Maybe the nonalcoholic aperitif could use an accompaniment that would help balance it, instead of lemon juice? Not the finest mock tail I’ve had. The coconut mango sorbet had me excited, but the same thing — very sour and missing some of the mango flavor. The playlist was nice, but there was the occasional track or two that really missed the vibe — could use some pruning on the playlist. Was so jarring that all the tables/parties in the room looked at each other and commented on it.

We made a reservation for our party of 7 about 10 days prior. There was some confusion with the gal I talked to on the phone but a gentleman returned my call and was super accommodating. We knew that with a busy town it would be easier than walking in. I found Havana from reviews of the Balanced Rock Inn that is highly sought after. We had a 445pm reservation, earlier than we normally would typically select but great to avoid the crowds. Keegan our waitress was funny, quirky and very attentive. She was delight. Just what you hope for when spending $$ for a nice dinner. The drinks were fabulous! The Pisco Sour and Mojito were some of the bests ever. Very light and not overly sweet like some make. My husband said it was his best mojito ever! Oysters while expensive were yummy. Two of us had the paella and it was superb, brimming with lobster, mussels, shrimp. My husbands halibut was great also. The provolone bread appetizer with fresh chimchurri was good and something had never tried or seen on a menu. While we knew ahead of time it would have been nice to have a few items for kids on the menu. Or to be able to order a kid size serving. We elected to bring them anyway but would have made nice. They tasted the yummy breads, had some salad and tasted the fish. I imagine this is to cut down on lots of young kids coming but worked out ok for us.

Based on the recommendation of MJ at the Inn at Sunrise Point, we were able to secure an early reservation for a table on Friday night in Bar Harbor. What a treat! My first boss was Cuban and this brought back fond memories. Enrique, a very seasoned veteran was our waiter and made us feel like we were truly in an old fashioned, but glamorous Cuban restaurant. We had a nice window table. Cocktails were awesome, I had to go with the venerable Cuba Libre, while my wife tried the Periodista. For appetizers, we had the Gambas, sauteed shrimp with garlic, then deglazed with sherry, finished with sofrito and a grilled herb baguette. This was the best! For Dinner, we had Paella, which is lobster, shrimp, scallops, mussels, chorizo, tomatoes, peppers, and smoked chicken, cooked in saffron rice and topped with socarrat. Wow! And since in Maine, a Lobster Moqueca, which is lobster simmered in coconut broth with haddock, red peppers, and onion, served over jasmine rice with grilled pineapple. It was all perfectly cooked and so delicious! We were unable to try the desserts. Ask for Enrique for an authentic experience!

Wow! This is an incredible restaurant and all around was such a nice dinner experience. I wrote on the reservation that we were celebrating a birthday and they had a birthday card sitting on the table for us. We also started with an aperitif that was a small, delicious bite! They brought bread for the table both gluten free and regular. They have dips for the bread that were amazing as well. We got the mushroom egg rolls as a starter which was fantastic. They were super hot but delicious and the sauce complemented really nicely. We tried the vegetable dish, lamb, paella, and lobster moqueca. Every dish was so amazing and flavorful. The paella was my favorite and is one of the best I’ve had (probably the best). They even brought over a small dessert at the end of the night which was a nice touch. The server was very friendly, helpful and nice. All around a really wonderful time at Havana and we’ll definitely go back any time we are in the area! I love that they change their menu with the different months so I would love to come back and try new items.

Excellent restaurant with amazing and authentic Spanish food. First time dining here and we were pleased to see Havana was open when most restaurants in the area are already closed for the season. Nice indoor and outdoor seating and a nice bar with seating . The menu is fresh and exciting with delicious choices . We tried their mussels and octopus appetizer and the seafood paella and the pollo dish. The mussels were so fresh and in this incredible sauce and the octopus was also fresh and delicious. The seafood paella was wonderful with fresh seafood in a great sauce and the chicken .dish was tender and delicious. Everything was fantastic. We then tried their mango mouse for dessert and what a delicious treat. Every dish has so many levels of flavor and is prepared with such detail and creativity. The entire meal was great . Friendly and helpful service. Loved everything. . highly recommend.
