After booking this room for my friend and me I got two emails: the first one telling me to get the key from a bar close by (Troger bistr) and the second one to tell me how to get my breakfast at another bar (Bar 9) . In fact how to not get my breakfast because since the bar is closed on Sundays you can only get a prepared breakfast package from them. In order to get this breakfast package from Bar 9 you need to get the key from Troger Bar beforehand because together with the key you will receive the voucher for the breakfast package. ||||Ok then...I had to read those emails a couple of times until I understood what I had to do. Also I was very disappointed to hear that I would not get a proper breakfast on Sunday with hot coffee and tea but just a breakfast package-something I could have easily bought myself at a supermarket. If I would have known that then probably I wouldn't have booked this accommodation. If they offer breakfast they should serve a proper breakfast and not a "breakfast package"! Or at least tell you thi BEFORE booking a room with breakfast... ||||The Troger Bar was supposed to be open from 8am onwards and since we arrived in Budapest at 9.30am on Saturday we thought we walk by, get our keys and then leave the luggage there or in the room and go explore Budapest. On arrival we noticed that the Troger bar (the one for the keys) wouldn't open until noon and since the 9 bar (the one for the breakfast package) would close at 4pm we couldn't really go some place else as we had to return after 12pm in order to get our keys but before 4pm in order to get our breakfast package! The only good thing was that the two bars are located opposite each other and just a 3 minute-walk away from the "hostel". Since it was 10.30am we decided to wait until noon and had a coffee at Marcella's Cafe (which was great, btw). At 12pm we walked into the Troger bar in order to get our keys and bumped into the owner/manager/whoever it was who handed the staff the keys and check-in information for the day. He was very friendly and helpul which lifted our mood a little bit. By that time we were really tired of waiting and of the whole complicated procedure in order to get our keys and breakfast.||||Anyway this guy told us that usually he brings in the keys only around 2pm which leaves you with just a 2 hour time frame where you can get the keys AND your breakfast package. If you arrive before 2pm you won't get the keys and the breakfast voucher and if you arrive after 4pm you won't get a breakfast package! ||||I think this is a really bad organisation and for people who are just there for the weekend quite restricting in their time management. But finally, at around 1 pm, everything was settled: we were equipped with our keys and our breakfast packages. It would have been great to have the breakfast at the bar since the food looked really great. You get a voucher where you can choose 3 items from the following: tea/coffee/fresh orange juice/muesli/croissant with butter and jam/sandwich||Since the hostel kitchen does not have a fridge we opted for muesli with joghurt, orange juice, (a) tea (bag), sandwiches. What a pity not to be able to get great coffee and tea with our breakfast :-( If it would have been summer and not the end of March we probably would not have been able to keep any of those items due the higher temperature until the next morning so no breakfast at all! ||||Anyway, we finally managed to leave the breakfast and our bags in the "hostel" and set off to explore the city. After coming back at around 8 pm we got to move into our room. It was supposed to be with a private bathroom but the only privacy about that shared bathroom was the second bathroom door that led right into our bedroom. Fortunately it was locked but since the walls are very thin and the bed and the toilet are literally standing next to each other you hear everything that's going on in the bathroom. Since this bed room did not have any blinds or curtains I would not recommended it to light sleepers who wake up easily by light or sound! Since we were really exhausted after this long day we almost fell asleep immediately and did not wake up before the next morning. ||||First challenge the next morning: having a shower. My friend went to have a shower first and it took her almost 15 minutes to get rid of all the shampoo in her hair because the water pressure was practically non-existant. Since I knew that before I took my shower I washed my hair in the sink and my body in the bathtub which worked ok.||||Second challenge: getting boiling water for the tea. Since there was no kettle I took a pot (one out of two) and tried to boil water on the stove. Unluckily the gas seemed to be empty as I only got the stove burning for half a minute before it went off and didn't want to start going again. A girl which was staying there for a week tried it, too, and couldn't get it going either so it was really not my inability that the stove wasn't working. Well then at least there was a microwave and after 10 minutes I finally had boiling water for my tea! The tea was great and so was the muesli and the orange juice which hat survived a night hanging out off our window just fine.||After enjoying our delicious breakfast in the sun on the veranda kind of thing we packed our stuff and made our way to the TripleM-Hotel where we were told to leave our luggage the day before by the helpful young man with the keys. This was of really great help as the TripleM-hotel is only one metro stop away from Keleti railway station from where we left Budapest at 8pm on Sunday. Otherwise we would have to leave our luggage in lockers in the railway station since you have to return the keys before noon and you are not able to get inside the hostel without your own set of keys.||||In summary I felt that the procedure of getting the keys and the breakfast was a really unnerving and time consuming procedure which the manager should really improve - especially on weekends! Also, the room didn't have it's own bathroom as it was stated on my booking confirmation and the kitchen is hardly more than a stove, a microwave and two pots. However the room is fine-nothing fancy but reasonable sized with windows and a comfy bed, the wifi works ok and the location is just fabulous-right in the centre of everything!||Also the breakfast if served at the 9 bar must be even more delicious than with our breakfast package and I really liked to be able to choose what I like for breakfast. In summary I would say that after having dealt with all those curiosities and knowing what I know now I would stay...
Read moreFirst of all it is first negative feedback I post in my life. I was tempted by good reviews, flexible check-in ( Key safe ), I had an appointment in Budapest while coming back to home country. The apartment itself was matching the description and the pictures, however before my arrival someone must had a really great night in this apartment... and that was not cleaned by the Personel of the O3 Hostel. In the apartment there were personal items left by previous guest ( like hat, some tobacco ? I am not sure ). In the various places in the apartment there were female bunches of hair. And most importantly in the bed lining there were dry white stains ( I do not want to imagine what was that ) and also more female hair... The glass handrail on the entresol that were a lot of handprints. Also the floor near bed was covered with red stains, maybe after some wine ? The same color stains were visible on the both bedside tables. The bathroom itself also did not looked like it was cleaned. There were no any towels, even to wipe hands. After contacting with Airbnb support and sharing the pictures of the room and bed lining without saying a word they made a refund for me. I did not decide to stay at this place. I am really disappointed, place had got many good reviews, and it was the most expensive apartment by O3 Hostel. Unfortunately due to this situation I had to cancel appointment and try to solve out the situation, for this no one is going to pay me. The apartament definitely have very big potential, but at first they need to work on the cleanness, for now I totally do not recommend to stay...
Read moreImportant! Avoid this non-guest house! Here they will be rude to you, call you names, without providing the services for which you paid. In my case I was the main guest who booked a room for 4 people with 4 beds. The price I paid was of course for a quadruple room. As a result, the beds were not prepared for sleeping without pillowcases and duvet covers. The inappropriate woman on the phone first shouts that she is a great and rude director of the hostel, saying that one made bed is enough for me. When asked why, if I paid for a room for 4, with 4 beds, I end up wanting to use other beds and beds with sheets and pillowcases, the woman started screaming, being rude and hanging up. They did not change and did not provide pillowcases and duvet covers. They blocked my number as a client by calling me names and being rude. Moreover, there is fungus in the bathroom, see photo of moldy walls, swollen from dampness, there is no elevator. You need to go up to the 4th floor, and not to the 3rd, where the staircase railings are dilapidated, because the house is pre-revolutionary. Stairs are dangerous in an emergency. The motion sensor on the stairs and apartment turns off prematurely due to electricity, both in the corridor and in the room, which is in emergency condition. The director is rude and impolite. There is no concept of service. Terrible customer treatment. This is the first time in my 19 countries of travel that such horror has occurred. I don't...
