Astoria Lángos Bistro — Restaurant in Budapest

I have tried the Greek style langos here for the first time. It was very delicious. However, the portions were a little bit small compared to other places. The prices were also higher than others. It is understandable that they are in a touristic area and in the city center. Futhermore, this is more like a bistro/restaurant. The atmosphere is nice, but not impressive. I think that if they use the (staff only) garden behind, this could be amazing. The service was also nice, but they ask tip when you order your food which is interesting because tips are generally asked at the end of the process, not at the beginning. We just had to try the well renowned langos and knew from our last visit that this place had a great reputation. The food was hot and fresh, very tasty, and for that reason I’d like to recommend it. What wasn’t good was the attitude of the waiting staff. Rude, abrupt and very unhelpful. It’s a shame and I do understand that this is fast food, not five star, but respect to customers is surely a minimum requirement? I had a great experience. The langos was absolutely delicious – crispy on the outside and soft inside, with fresh toppings. What really made my visit special was the service. Joci was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and spoke excellent English, which made ordering very easy and pleasant. He took the time to explain the different options and gave great recommendations.
