I really like fresh pasta places, and this had a good reputation as a hidden gem, so I decided to give a try. 📍Place: the location is very good, right in front of the Synagogue. It has seats inside and outside as well, but there is no AC, so it could get quite hot. 🍛 Food: the pasta is really fresh, made for perfect al dente, and arrived quickly. Bolognese sauce tasted great (3950 HUF), and the portion was also big, no complaints except the lack of parmesan. Pastas can be made gluten free (+400 HUF), however the instead of the tomato prawn tagliatelle (4950 HUF), broken spaghetti arrived, so I think they only have gluten free spaghetti. Overall they tasted good, price is fine compared to quality and location. 👩🏻‍🍳 Service: there was one server for all the tables, who seemed to be burnt out and providing the bare minimum service - after we finished our drink and continued talking, he didn't approach us for a refill. We could split our bill and pay personally inside at the counter (with cash or card, no SZÉP card). There was also a compulsory service charge added to the bill. Also as I mentioned, I was missing the parmesan, so I asked him if I could get some and he brought it without saying a word leaving the container at the table. Upon payment I realised he actually charged 500 HUF for this - which is not a big amount but could have give a heads up in advance...

We went here spontaneously after seeing the good reviews, but here is an honest review of our experience at Pasta Bella. When we got into the restaurant and asked for a table, the waiter was really rude. He straight up said no table anymore and turned away. After asking him again how long it’s gonna take if we wait, he answered 10 minutes shortly. We then ordered a salad and pasta. The table next to us came later and got their order after 15 minutes most likely because they were Hungarians. Our salad, which by the way costed 2950 HUF (very expensive for Hungarian standards), came after 30 minutes and as you see it’s just a few slices of tomato and mozarella. We were so dissatisfied and after waiting 10 more minutes the pasta finally came. And we got disappointed one more time. The gnocchi which I ordered were so salty, I could only taste the saltiness while eating…my friends pasta was even worse. I‘m so sad and regretful after paying way too much for food that was so poorly cooked. Not even mentioning the 10% tip you are forced to pay for rude service. The toilet was so disgusting as well. There was literally a cockroach in front of my feet. Overall, I don’t recommend this restaurant AT ALL.

The food was great, but I gave 4 stars because of two reasons. The main reason is that bathrooms were not clean and there was no soap in the women's bathroom, at least during the ~2 hours I've been there (that made me wonder how the waitress there washes her hands after going to the bathroom). The second reason is that they don't accept credit cards (so we had to go to an ATM to take cash out, which is not convenient, and for tourists like us, the fee is high to take cash out of ATMs, especially the random street ATMs). I recommend the Salmon avocado salad (that is served hot) and the Mediterranean pasta. These meals were perfect. The other pasta with cream and beef cubes was tasty but very heavy. The pannacota was amazing.

I have been living in Budapest for two years now, and Ive come frequently, the food is usually very good and the service was okay until today. My mothers come here for a vacation and we were utterly shocked by how rude the server was. We walked in and the restaurant was quite empty which was unusual, he did seem pissed off however it shouldnt have reflected on us. We ordered two fruit lemonade and he brought us regular ones, i kindly asked him to fix the drinks as we wanted berries and he said ok, proceeded to come back to our table with a compote bottle “you want berries? Ok” and squeezed it in our glasses, mixed the drinks using the tip of our straws and left. I called him back because it looked unappetizing, and he was extremely rude and unprofessional, i told him that usually there are berries in my drinks and they looked different(ihad photos for reference) instead he argued and took the drinks and said “goodbye”. Too many issues with the very small encounter today, im extremely displeased,...
