Honestly, I was expecting to be blown away from their Pizzas (based on the reviews…) Ordered the Prosciutto Cotto Pizza. It took them barely 8 minutes in total to prepare the whole thing. Pizza was in the wood-fired oven for like 3 min in total. That was a super-fast preparation. Regarding the taste itself, I didn’t like it. Tomato sauce was just too watery. Had to drain all the juices from my Pizza. Didn’t like the dough either. Felt a bit tasteless. Need more flavors to it. I might not be a Pizza expert, but tomato sauce should be thicker, and not watery, that caused my Pizza to be wet. I do appreciate the fast service, and the fact that the waitress asked if everything was OK during our meal. Place is nicely decorated and gives cozy warm feeling. Shame their Pizza wasn’t up to the high expectations we had. Finally, considering my rule of thumb for Budapest restaurant, that whoever takes 13-15% service fee, I am automatically deducting a star (13% is included in the bill).

Digo’s pizzeria caught my eye on the way to the ruins bar, after seeing how many good reviews it had we decided to visit the following evening, extremely glad we did. The staff here are absolutely amazing, very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The pizza was one of the best I’ve ever tried and the calzone was also perfect. This was finished off with their homemade tiramisu and an espresso, both were throughly enjoyed. The portion sizes here are insane, neither of us could finish our food and our server happily offered us a takeaway box. (The left over pizza was just as nice the following morning) I love the whole vibe of this place, the interior is so sleek, stylish, and modern. Considering how popular Digo is, they keep their prices extremely reasonable and don’t try and take advantage of tourists which goes a long way. I would definitely return here in the future!

2025 March update: Sadly I feel I have to amend my review below. I just had a Diavola here again and it was the polar opposite of my first experience... The dough was dry, flat and hard, the tomato sauce lacking to the point where huge chunks of the pizza were crunchy and hard... The crust was flat and uninviting. Almost as if the dough rising time was cut and the baking overdone. Updated pictures attached. Old review: One of the absolute top napolitan pizza places in Budapest. Long dough rising time, 480-510C oven, imported Italian 00 flower, fior di latte, San Marzano tomato and the list goes on. These guys know what they are doing and they are doing it exceptionally well. Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff to top it all off! I would very highly recommend this place if you are looking for an authentic napolitan pizza experience.

I have changed my five star review to a one star after coming here for the third time whilst on holiday to Budapest, I ordered the following dish - Burrata A Kemencéből. Both the previous times we came to the restaurant they gave us a good amount of sauce to bread ratio and the brunette waitress with glasses was extremely polite to us.

Tonight we attended and the same waitress took our order and but made a slight human and genuine mistake and misheard when we asked for two Burrata A Kemencéből ,we were only brought one. I informed a different female waiter with red hair we’d ordered two just to double check and she rectified the issue quickly.

The initial Burrata A Kemencéből that had been brought had 4 small scoops worth of sauce compared to our previous times visiting and I informed the waitress with red hair that it was very little sauce compared to the last two times and we couldn’t eat the bread with the sauce due to it (6 pieces of bread brought with the sauce and we had eaten 1 piece with no sauce left). Again this is very trivial to us and could have been a genuine mistake.

The Waitress informed us that she can assure us the sauce is always the same because the chefs use a spoon to measure it, I responded I can assure you it’s not, the last two times there’s been a decent sauce to bread ratio and far more sauce. I told her we have no reason to lie.

The waitress responded saying “SO HOW WOULD YOU LIKE ME TO FIX IT?”

Quite self explanatory, more sauce, but clearly she just wanted to argue as she did not believe our comments to be true.

They did bring more sauce with the second dish of Burrata A Kemencéből, more than ever to satisfy the complaint which is okay, again the issue was with the waitress, a table came and sat next to us and ordered the same dish and she told them:

“JUST SO YOU KNOW I HAVE TO INFORM YOU THAT MAN MADE A COMPLAINT SO HE GOT MORE SAUCE, SO YOU WONT HAVE AMOUNT OF SAUCE”.

Perhaps I’m misreading the situation but to me that statement was extremely unprofessional, trying to embarrass me for a genuine complaint, because we weren’t given a consistent amount of food and the sauce was such a tiny amount?

It’s not difficult to treat people with decency and respect, especially when that’s your job role. Would never come back her just because of that staff member and she...

It's my first time here tonight. The restaurant was quiet and not too busy at 7 pm on a Monday. The service was delightful and simple. I have to say that this is the best pizza I've had recently: prosciutto and mushrooms. It's the one I take everywhere: thin pastry, sweet and fresh tomato sauce, well-cut and fresh prosciutto and mushrooms. The ingredients were cooked superbly. Perhaps the oven was a little too strong, but nothing serious. The whole thing held together beautifully—perfect homogeneity. Perfectly blended on the palate. I'd say the flavour was well-composed and salty without being too much. I also tried the dop margarita with pecorino. It was excellent. I should have tried the classic margarita; it's worth the diversion for lovers. Unfortunately, there was no more tiramisu, so I can't say anything. But it's a good sign that it's the only dessert on the menu. It made me want to try it again, maybe for lunch (so I could have the tiramisu). The pizzas set very well, with no feeling of gluten or heaviness in the stomach. I'd say it was light. If I may make one minor criticism, the glasses of wine were a little shy. I would have liked to have been served better. I'm not used to such small glasses. But the price is quite reasonable: around 60 euros for 4 with four drinks and a bottle of water. Looking forward to...
