A Hidden Gem of Levantine Delights: A Five-Star Culinary Journey

If you're searching for an authentic Levantine culinary experience that transcends the ordinary, look no further than this delightful hole-in-the-wall restaurant. Tucked away from the bustling streets, this hidden gem offers an extraordinary array of meze that will transport your taste buds to the vibrant flavors of the Levant. Prepare to be enchanted by the impeccable service, warm atmosphere, and the absolute highlight of your day: the mouthwatering food and refreshing mint tea.

From the moment I stepped inside, I was welcomed with genuine hospitality and a friendly ambiance that made me feel like a cherished guest. The staff went above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience, providing attentive service without ever intruding on the enjoyment of the meal. Their knowledge of the menu and willingness to guide me through the extensive options further enhanced the overall experience.

Now, let's talk about the star of the show—the food. The meze selection at this Levantine haven is an absolute triumph. Each dish is a masterpiece in its own right, showcasing the rich and vibrant flavors of the region. From the creamy hummus to the smoky baba ghanoush, every bite transported me to the bustling markets and aromatic kitchens of the Levant. The soft pita bread was my personal favourite.

To complement the feast, I indulged in the refreshing mint tea, which proved to be the perfect accompaniment to the flavorful meze. Served in traditional tea glasses, the aromatic infusion of mint leaves provided a soothing respite from the richness of the cuisine. It was the ideal way to conclude an unforgettable meal.

In addition to the remarkable culinary offerings, the humble yet charming ambiance of this place adds to its allure. The cozy interior, adorned with colorful decorations and ambient music, creates a welcoming atmosphere that invites diners to relax and savor every moment. The modest surroundings only serve to enhance the authenticity and genuine nature of the dining experience.

In conclusion, this Levant restaurant is an absolute gem that deserves every accolade. The incredible meze selection, friendly service, and the memorable mint tea combine to create a truly outstanding culinary journey. For an immersive experience of Levantine cuisine that will leave you craving for more, I wholeheartedly recommend visiting this hidden treasure. Be prepared to be captivated by the flavors, engulfed in warm hospitality, and treated to an exceptional dining experience that will remain etched in...

We visited Levant Restaurant as a group of four friends and made sure to reserve online since we knew the place is quite small and intimate — and we're glad we did!

We ordered a variety of dishes to share:

Labneh

Zaatar & cheese manakish

Hummus with meat

Egg & cheese pastry

Every dish was delicious and full of authentic flavor. The ingredients tasted fresh, and the portions were generous — we loved everything we tried!

We also ordered mint tea — twice each — because it was just that good. For dessert, we had kunafa, which unfortunately was the only disappointment of the meal. It was a bit dry, lacking the softness and syrupy richness we were expecting.

On the bright side, the coffee was excellent — we tried the cappuccino, Americano, and Arabic coffee, and each one was flavorful and well-prepared.

The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making the whole experience warm and welcoming. While the space is small, it feels inviting and cozy, especially with classic Fairouz music playing in the background, adding to the lovely Middle Eastern ambiance.

Prices are reasonable, and given the quality of food and service, it’s great value for money.

Highly recommend for anyone looking for authentic Middle Eastern flavors in a charming,...

I ordered chicken Shawarma wrap along with a bowl of potatoes. The potatoes were savory and delicious. The shawarma was okay and acceptable and could be very delicious for anyone who isn't familiar with the Syrian shawarma which is quite juicy, is wrapped in Arabian bread, and filled with garlic cream. This shawarma isn't any similar to the one I eat in Syria. It's not juicy like it, the bread used is tortilla instead, and strangely it had cheese within it which wasn't mentioned in the description, and cheese isn't a typical ingredient of the shawarma anyway. But I think it was used instead of the mayonnaise that was in the description but wasn't in the sandwish. The wrapping is dry and could be improved with a little bit of butter or chicken fat as done in Syria. I know this is a Lebanese restaurant, but since the sandwich is called Shawarma, at least it should be similar to it. For me this was more likely a cheese chicken sandwish rather than shawarma. But overall, it's acceptable, and the menu is promising, so I may order again, just not the same thing I ordered today... But I must commend the fast service which was essential for me on this occasion as I was fasting today. So I'm very grateful for the quick...

I visit Budapest often and since many years. Like many locals I avoid dining in the bustling center of town because gastronomy is almost always better and more affordable in the suburbs. Levant is not a bistro and it most certainly is not Lebanese. Two thirds of the menu was not available and seeing this is a day before Easter I suspect this is the norm not the exception. The food that is available reminds me of the small eateries typically found outside schools and colleges in Türkiye called 'büfe'. These have tiny kitchens and typically sell cheese toast, meatball toast, chicken wraps and simple salads at student friendly prices. In Hatay (in the south of Türkiye) they also sell hummus which is typically kept in the fridge because it is made early in the morning and sold throughout the day. The büfe will not take you on an unforgettable culinary journey but it is not a bad invention. It allows people with less financial means to fill their stomachs with food that is more nutritious than what is available in fast food chains.
