When I travel abroad, I’m always seeking out burger joint that will serve the unique burger. Ive not been disappointed yet and this place by far was one of the best experiences I’ve had to date in Europe. Now we come here every year and has been doing so,for the last 15 years. Lela was our server. There was 8 of us and they allowed us to make separate orders. So if you try this place, you will I. No way shape form or fashion will you be dissatisfied or disappointed. The duck burger. DAMN!!!!
The owner is Mickey and he is very approachable, friendly and welcoming. He makes sure he welcomes all his customers if he’s around or available. We had an opportunity to meet Mickey dog Denzel and his mother who was there to pick up Denzel for her doggy sitting duties. Sweet sweet sweet lady. Very compassionate and that may be where Mickey gets his charm from.
We had an opportunity wonder time, a wonder meal and felt like we were the only people on earth when it came to customer service. This one, I feel in love with.
Now a few hours later I was standing outside smoking a Marlboro and Mickey approached me as a non cucstomer and ask me if I wanted a drink that he was willing to comp me even though I was not a customer Att her I,e. I just happened out of the hotel we are staying at, he saw me, walked up and started a conversation and ask, old you like a cold drink? Who does that to a perfect stranger just for the sake of it. We were no different than any other customers they were attending to, but they took care to make sure we had everything we needed. They even went so far as to give us tips on places to visit and things to do so,it was like having dinner at your friends home that doubles as a visitors center.
Great food, even greater people and customer service. I think I fell in love all over again. Thanks !om,...
Read moreThe Lucky 7 Burger is what happens when someone with passion and dedication decide to start a business from scratch based solely on the attitude of wanting to provide a great experience to locals and tourists. On our first evening in Budapest, walking in the city center on the Pest side of the bridge we found this very nice and appealing Burger place, there were tables outside where we were invited to take a seat by the owner: Mikki. A delightfully kind waitress took our order and we were served within minutes. The atmosphere was very nice, with great music accompanying our meal and a nice and tasty burger that was cooked very well, the meat was very good, I myself tried their specialty which is the Lucky 7 Burger and my wife had the cheeseburger, we were both quite happy with it, it wasn't oily, not too greasy, and it didn't fall apart when we were eating it, there was the perfect harmony between the bun, the meat and the cheese. But the thing that really caught our attention was the owner, you could see how this restaurant is his baby, and how much he cares about the service that he provides to people, he kept an eye on the restaurant to make sure that customers were happy and respectful of the staff who was very kind and professional. He also did all he could to accomodate a large group of tourists who wanted to sit outside. I have had the pleasure to eat in a lot of restaurants even family owned but it's the first time that I see so much passion, love, care and dedication from an owner. I was so impressed that I asked the waitress if I could meet him and I was right! Mikki is a hard working man who will take the best care of his customers no matter what.
Thank you so much once again for the great experience! We won't forget this wonderful restaurant owned and ran by...
Read moreThis was definitely an experience I’ll never forget — but not for the right reasons. I’m seriously considering laminating the receipt just to remember the day I paid more for a takeaway burger than I ever thought possible. For one burger and two plain fries, I paid €30.19. Yes, seriously.
Not only that — I was also charged for the paper bag and the box they put the burger in (!!!). The owner even pointed out the box charge, like it was part of the premium. I don’t even want to imagine what they’d charge if I dared to sit at a table.
To be fair, the burger was decently tasty even after a delay... but that’s about it. Definitely not worth it. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. There are plenty of better, more affordable spots out there. Even Burger King, which we used to eat at every day, felt more reasonable and enjoyable.
Swiss prices without the Swiss service or quality. Just avoid it.
Update after the owner's reply:
Just because your exchange rate today shows €25.75, doesn’t mean that’s what we paid. I was charged €30.19 — that’s the actual amount on my receipt. Tourists don’t get to pay based on favorable currency math.
Also, let’s not twist things — we didn’t order your most expensive burger. We chose something simpler, medium-sized. So no need to bring foie gras into this. Nice deflection though.
And yes, that extra €5 came from takeaway packaging — which no one mentioned or asked if we wanted. It was just quietly added. So if we’d sat down, we’d have paid less for the same food? That’s the real kicker.
As for the receipt — I joked about laminating it, but at this point, maybe I’ll auction it on eBay as a “collector’s item.” You know, limited edition Lucky 7 paper – now with surprise...
