I wanted to visit this restaurant the previous Saturday on the 15/03, together with a friend. As we arrived there, we saw a lady (employee) putting up a blue line at the entrance with a sign saying: " Our Terrace is open upstairs." We were confused because it was 15:26 and according to Google and the opening time sign infront of the entrance, the restaurant was open at that time until 16:00. One minute later, a lady came (guest), who was also confused but told us to go in with her since someone from the restaurant told her to just enter. As we entered, the lady was greeted in a friendly way in the local language by an employee. We, on the other hand, were told in a very rude way by a waiter to leave the restaurant as they are closed. I told the waiter that first it is still 15:26 and you close at 16:00 for break and we only wanted coffee, second I asked him why they put the sign at the entrance that their terrace is open if they don't want any customers. The waiter was very rude and told us that they were closed (even though the local lady was allowed to stay) and that we should leave. So.... if you are looking for a restaurant that treats non locals very unfriendly, then that's the place to go. Such rude behaviour must be reported, and that's what I'm doing through my review.

This is our second luncheon experience at Robinson’s, the first was over twenty years ago. We had such a good experience with our family back then that we returned as a couple and were not disappointed. The décor is modern industrial warmed with some lovely decorations. The lighting looks soft and flattering, although we were there in daylight (there are actual incandescent Edison bulbs and they didn’t seem to be overly lit like many European restaurants). The Bécsi Szelet is enough to share but we also ordered the cauliflower. The two dishes were enough for two very hungry people or three people with self control! The Bécsi Szelet was breaded with Panko and not at all greasy. The potatoes were roasted with fine herbs and were crispy and creamy at the same time. The cauliflower was perfectly roasted and then covered in a delicious cheesy Béchamel sauce, the only negative would be is that the sauce on the cauliflower was a bit excessive (don’t get me wrong, it was extremely delicious but a little less would have done the trick). The prices were what you’d expect for a good restaurant in a beautiful park. The servers are friendly and speak English. This place met our high expectations, we definitely recommend it.

. My partner and I were there in the afternoon without booking, we asked for a table for two and we immediately noticed the receptionist making a strange face (my partner is in a wheelchair) at first she didn't know what to say, we had seen that there was a table right in front of us, but she asked a waiter if we could sit down. First impression, not good. After a while, the waiter comes to bring us the menu and I kindly asked if it was possible to recharge my phone, I saw that he went to the reception and when he came back he told me no. Another waiter came to take our order, I asked if it was possible to recharge the mobile, and he kindly said yes. After that I went to the bathroom which was in another room and saw that there were several free tables. We ate and spent more than 1.30 hours and we didn't see any other customers enter the restaurant. I wonder if maybe they don't want wheelchair users, just write it out or maybe because they thought we couldn't afford it, never judge a book by its cover ,we spend about Hungurian Forint 40000 (£90). Sure, the food is good but not the customer service.

Not welcoming, not friendly. I'm leaving this review simply because I want people to be aware of what kind of judgment they might be facing and what kind of customer service they might receive when showing up at this place. I'm visiting Budapest. It's my birthday. I've spent all day at the Széchenyi Baths. Walking back to the hotel I noticed this place and I thought to have dinner here before heading back. I was wearing sports shoes, leggings and had a rack sack. When I walked in, the restaurant manager came downstairs, looked at me from top to bottom and made me feel uncomfortable straight away. I thought maybe it's just my impression, if there was a dress code he would have told me openly. I work in the hospitality industry and I understand that certain places may have an etiquette. I asked if they were still open and he said yes. I asked if I could sit outside and he said no. He asked me to follow him upstairs so I did. He offered the small table in the corner far away from every one else. As their slogan you see from the window states: Eat. Drink. Socialize. That didn't seem right. I told him it was my birthday and if I could sit near the window. He looked at me again from top to bottom, with what it felt like disgust. So I asked:"Is there a dress code? I just came from the Baths!". He said:"Well, with those trainers you can't sit near the window, only here!" "Don't worry mate, I'll go somewhere else!" First: if there's a dress code you tell people upfront, you don't try to get their money but relegate them in the corner like they have some kind of disease. Second: I said it was my birthday, not even a Happy birthday or Sorry we are can't accommodate you. Third: It was 10pm, I was probably going to be the last guest walking in, they could have treat me better instead of just trying to get my money with the "far-away-table" condition. Fourth: No matter if your food is good, the impression you gave me of your customers service is awful. I have many good things to tell my friends about Budapest, and many recommendations to makke, you are certainly not...

A rather interesting, or even flabbergasting experience. The food was delicious - had a full course meal with my partner. The service had some room to improve though. Starting with servers mostly striking conversations with my partner due to his more masculine looks- left me feeling like a second category person, despite being the one to actually pay for everything. We wanted to have beef tartare served alongside the main course- the difference in flavors, temperature and texture improved the overall experience of eating. Unfortunately one of the servers almost had a fight (or at least, it felt like it) because of it. How dare we want to enjoy a starter with main course? Another server thankfully stepped in and continued the order. As previously mentioned, the food was amazing. Pasta with steak was creamy and savory, prawns had a nice kick to it, tartar had an amazing taste and texture. Food was easily the peak of it. Sometimes the server would pop in mid sentence to ask how it is going- a bit rude, but understandable. The person serving us tiramisu was a tad nervous but again- great job from his side, didn't seem to be an actual server, and it was getting rather busy at that point. The 27% service fee was. Rather weird. Is the restaurant not paying their servers enough? Even in US, 20% is usually considered a great amount. Is the owner/management mistreating the team and underpaying them? Tips- should be tips. Shouldn't be enforced. Rather based on experiences of the customers. Definitely took us by suprise. Definitely won't be returning despite the delicious food. Especially if servers depend on service fee and are being paid minimum wage- which seems to be the case. Pay your workers...

TLDR - Food was really good. Atmosphere is nice if you aren't there in the middle of a summer day and it is sunny. Service is horrible. People here seriously have an attitude problem.

The food was really good, but I felt that my meal (magalika tenderloin) was a bit small on the portion size. That being said, others at the table who had ordered salads had a good portion size. The atmosphere is nice if you don't go on a hot, sunny day. There are gaps in the roofing for the outdoor seating where the sun can shine through directly onto you so keep that in mind. The service was terrible. Our waiter asked us to take our water bottles off of the table and put them on the floor. Ok, fair enough. Maybe they have a reputation to uphold. I'll give it to them. Once we finished our meal, a woman in our group asked for the check. We sat around 10 minutes waiting and...nothing. So I, as the guy in the group, decided maybe our waiter would pay attention to a more assertive person. You know, guy to guy. So I politely said "Excuse me! Can we get the check please?" I might've raised my voice when I said excuse me, but I did that to get his attention and didn't do so as if I were yelling angrily at him. He responded with "I know! I know! My colleague is handling it!" He said so in a rude and angry manner. I did nothing to provoke the guy. He and others seemed like they just had an attitude issue so don't expect people to be nice to you. Yes this could've been because we are tourists, but I've read other poorly rated reviews on Google that sound like they are written by locals and they have had similar...
