Tóth kocsma — Restaurant in Budapest

We were greeted with a very positive and attentive waitress however the experience turned into a disappointment when it came to the quality of the meal.

I ordered pork leg with potatoes (it does not seem to appear in the online menu however it was on the printed menu)

First of all, this place heats the dishes in the microwave, which is a total disrespect for the customers. You can tell because the heat on the dish was distributed unevenly; while some parts of the bone were warm, some other parts were cold.

Secondly, the leg they served contained no meat. It was just a big piece of bone. The bone-to-meat ratio of the dish was so ridiculously unfair, when the waitress saw the leg still intact on my plate she mistook me for not eating the dish and asked if I did not like the food.

She appeared to be a nice person but when I expressed my dissatisfaction about the amount of meat she said nothing and chose to take no actions.

Prior to receiving my order, I clearly showed interest in trying out some Hungarian alcohols. But after the meal I received, I naturally chose not to order anything else. I do not know how much you gain by cheating the customers off the amount of the meat, however I don't think it is worth the amount of orders and customers you will lose in the long run due to negative...

Really nice place, pub atmosphere with wooden benches and tables, close to the Parliament and Margaret Island. Despite our non-existent knowledge of Hungarian, the service was perfect and waitresses very kind. Menu is in Hungarian in English.

We were there two consecutive evenings for dinner, had gulash and creamy soups, Hungarian sausages and bread with cheese. Simply great, everything was tasty. Another big plus is that they are dog friendly! We could bring in our dog with us without problem. We would definitely be back if traveling...
