What a gem we found here. We wanted a light lunch between us with some good wine. Falu was the perfect place. We were welcomed so warmly and felt welcome immediately. We chose the charcuterie board to share and a clean dry white rissling wine for myself and my husband chose a red Merlot. We were very happy with our choices, absolutely delicious and of the greatest quality, all prepared freshly in front of us. The ambience was relaxing with background music and full of charm with all the produce they sell beautifully displayed around us. We stayed in Budapest for a week and this amazing deli/café was the star of our show. Just to add, the price was incredible. It appears Falu is not selling fresh bread. I just bought a frozen loaf of bread, still ice cold in the middle, for 1500 HUF. This is a premium price for bread, and I expect it fresh and top quality. This is more expensive than most artisan bakeries. Their fresh spreads are amazing, and they have great deli meat, but this kind of dishonest business practice has lost you my business. Do you think your customers are stupid chumps that you can pull the wool over their eyes and give them a dried-out and frozen loaf of bread? Very friendly store owner who speaks English. It’s like a little deli where you can get Hungarian paprika, honey, pate, cheese, sausages, wine, beer etc. They stock higher end items than the grocery store.
