I'm almost 40 years old, I've worked in restaurants that deliver, I've definitely had my share of deliveries to me (past few years, daily), never sent a review for food delivery, but this is, by far, the worst delivery I've ever had to accept (consequences - kids have to eat, it's getting late and I fly tomorrow). Ordered through Wolt. The place is less than 500 meters from my hotel, two 30cm pizzas and a kids pasta, took these guys 1 hour, then 20 more minutes after getting the "ready and on its way" notification. Don't even remember what the estimate on that was (35, 45, 60 or 60-80 minutes), but let's assume it wasn't late (took 80), because that wasn't the main problem. Pizzas were barely warm if at all, definitely smaller than 30cm diameter, one of the pizzas got cold and inseperable from the box, I couldn't even pick up a normal slice out of that thing. Second pizza was... Eatable, almost ok, but again - barely warm. The pasta was completely cold (hot day, 37 degrees, so around 10pm, 30 degrees out, I don't even know how it's possible for it to get this cold), sauce was also cold and sticky as hell and inseperable from the box, which was, btw, about 75% empty. It arrived like that, 10 minutes before closing, so who was I going to complain to exactly, ro get my proper meal (10900 HUF, not cheap)? I was in Budapest for a week, had a great time, last night, thought we'd order in and have a chill night. Ended up hungry and angry, ruined our last night here, food-wise. From the address, it's obvious we're tourists. It's also obvious they just forgot to make the delivery (again, less than 500 meters from the hotel) and it just sat there, getting cold, for a long time. Happens, right? In such a case, a normal place would just make it again, instead of sending a meal that looks like it's been sitting in the fridge for an hour after not eating it. Not this place - nah, it's just tourists, screw that, give them that and let's close up even though we messed up. Tourists, who cares? No message, not a word, nothing. We got the notification it's ready and on its way when the first hour passed, and then it took 20 more minutes, again, less than 500 meters from me. Obviously it wasn't on its way after an hour, because I can CRAWL BACKWARDS those 500 meters in less than 20 minutes. Must have thought we're morons. Didn't understand what was going on, but once I opened that mess up, it all made sense. The delivery guy - not his fault, he got his tip. But the guys who sent this thing to me messed up bigtime and couldn't care less to even pretend to try to fix it. As long as they got to finish their shift on time and not a minute later. Disgusting (yeah,...
Read moreAbsolutely awful experience at this Vapiano branch. I have never received such rude and ignorant customer service in my life and the food was horrible. We arrived at this branch for a meal whilst on holiday, we are used to visiting Vapiano in London and we always have a good experience. I was feeling unwell on this occasion and I had ordered a pasta dish, which was very bland. I also ordered a desert, but after feeling unwell after attempting to eat the pasta I knew I couldn’t eat the desert so I wanted to get a refund as I hadn’t collected it yet. I was told to join a queue in which I had to wait 10 minutes to speak to the girl at the drinks counter. I couldn’t even finish my sentence before she shut me down and told me to go to the bar. I told her I was feeling unwell and this was ignored. I then had to queue a further 10 minutes at the bar and I was feeling faint. I explained everything clearly to the girl behind the bar, I feel as though people in this branch do not try to listen or understand anyone speaking in English. She disregarded what I said and proceeded to try and give me the desert. I then had to slowly explain again and demonstrate that I was feeling faint and I wanted a refund. The girl with blonde hair and another customer looked at each other and exchanged an expression that mocked me, I felt shocked. The girl who disappeared then came back with a man who I found out was the manager. There was absolutely no customer service. No body asked if I was ok. They didn’t care to talk to explain anything to me. I paid by card and the girl handed me cash. I then said to the manager I paid by card and he just shrugged his shoulders. I don’t know what kind of training the staff in Budapest have, but it’s the worst experience I’ve ever had. I’ve never felt so bad and made to feel like I’m the problem, even more so when I’m feeling sick. Absolutely appalling. And it was dirty there were flies around us whilst we were trying to eat and they remained even when we...
Read moreThe service and the quality now reached a level below par. Ordered a caesar salad with chicken when the order came up it was filled with mushrooms. Mistakes happen, it’s ok. They made the order again now this time they forgot the garlic from the chicken. When asked about it the girl solved it “easily” by dumping a bunch of raw garlic on the salad in the plate instead of adding it to the chicken on the grill. I asked if this is the way it is supposed to be done, she said no. Did not receive any parmesan either even though I specifically asked for it in the order. This is not what people expect for the price they ask for a salad. But the story does not end here. There were no basil in the entire restaurant at any of the tables. When I asked for some at the counter garlic girl tells me that she can not give me any basil because they do not have a lot. If there are none at the tables the least she can do is give me a few leaves of basil especially after messing up my order twice. Finally I managed to get 5 leaves of basil. Made me feel really special… And the story continues. Paid 90Ft for 3 thin slices of bread (used to come with the salad now they charge you for it) which were hard as a rock. The least they could do is give at least semi-fresh bread especially if they charge for it. Horrendous! There were not enough silverware, we had to go and ask for it, when they refilled the station they were not dirty but did not give a clean feel at all. This restaurant is a disgrace. Our Vapiano days are over after all this. Oh! And there is an elevator to the upper level but only their staff is allowed to use it which is made clear with several red posters. If you are a paying guest, you need to take the stairs, you are not special enough to use the elevator. Again, mistakes happen but how one handles it is what counts. The staff we encountered here has no clue not only about service but general...
