Perhaps I was unlzcky but I am surprised from all the positive reviews. The service was terrible. Met some friends already at the table, they had coffees and water and a dessert. I asked for a decaf and didn’t get water like my friends did. Then I received my desert (attached) which was good at best, Then they took away my coffee, which i still had some left but my mouth was full while eating so couldn’t ask for anything to drink with the desert. They just left me dry. Running dry from the overly sweet mashed poppy that looked like mud from a puddle, was hoping someone would notice us and ask if we wanted another drink. We had to wait for 10 minutes until another table payed and I could tell the waitress I’m thirsty. Noone checked on us for 10 whole minutes. The place wasn’t even full. When going to the bathroom I noticed there were a LOT of staff inside, almost no tables, just hanging around, over 4 people. Basically more staff than tables, I told them our table is ready to pay and they asked ”which table?” Like mf i’m gonna tell you the number? I don’t work here, come check on us and bring the bill, I’m a customer, not your table guide but it didn’t even end here. They bring the bill, service fee 15% is included, a tip I wasn’t willing to pay, but whatever, it’s the rules. The guy tells me “it’s been declined … oh, sorry it went through, my bad”. Nice mistake, genius! 0 stars. Tourist trap. Avoid!

We had a really wonderful and long evening here with some of our closest friends. The views are excellent all around. The staff is excellently trained and speak great English and obviously Hungarian. Getting in feels very exclusive as you enter from an elevator off the street of Vorosmarty Square and seem to need a reset to get in though I expect you could be a walk in. It was full but there was a little room. I'd make a reservation though. The food selection is very limited - some appetizers, three mains and a few desserts. If you're familiar with the original and excellent St. Andrea Wine Bar then you'll understand the menu selections. The food is very good (great quality prosciutto) but admittedly a little pricey for the portion sizes. You're paying for the environment. They have excellent wines - their own vineyards and keep everything chilled nicely. The cocktail selection is also very thorough though a bit pricey, especially for Hungary (like, Hong Kong or NYC level cocktail prices, and up). I would have liked to try a few of them but we were having more of a wine evening. Great place for a nice night out, visiting guests or a special occasion.

The St. Andrea Wine & Skybar is definitely the rooftop bar with the highest standard in Budapest and it is a good idea to do a prior reservation. You can choose to sit outside on one of the two Terraces or inside, where they have some more tables as well. At weekends they have sometimes some DJ or live music as well. They offer some delight food, snacks and different drinks. Furthermore they have got a separate wine list, where you can choose between their own wine yard and some more options outside of Budapest. I can definitely recommend to choose their own ones. The Service could be better and the waiter should way more attentive. Sometimes we waited too long for the next drinks, but if you are not in hurry, then you can relax and enjoy the view.

This place has good cocktails however the front of house service is deplorable. I come from a Country where we expect polite and respectful service (Canada). They should fire their hostess immediately or risk losing international clientele. I visited October 20 2018 with my wife and spent 100 euros on six drinks which is fine because they were excellent. However we forgot a bag there. I went back just after they said they had closed although the hostess was still there and they were still taking up so called VIP Hungarian patrons. I along with several others (from Italy) had the door slammed literally in our face by the hostess when we tried to speak to her about our needs. I only got up by speaking to the bouncer who also had attitude but saw I was serious. Sure enough my lost bag was behind the bar waiting for me and I let the hostess know exactly how I felt on the way out. Thanks for making sure I...
