Good overall but there is much room for improvement and more attention to details.
I'll start by saying that the service was great and I did enjoy the food! I had the Tonkotsu Miso Ramen. I had many many bowls of Ramen over the years, in Japan as well including the home of Tonkotsu Ramen, Fukuoka.
There are some keys points to improve:
Perhaps the most important point, which really impacted the experience. The Ramen bowls were not heated before constructing the ramen and the broth was not hot enough so the ramen ended up being lukewarm. Ramen should be served very hot.
The Nitamago (the soft marinated eggs) was too cold and could not warm up with the broth not being hot enough. It was also way too sweet (not sure why).
Chashu is pork by definition, I did not notice that the 3 piece is actually Chashu "Chicken" and accidently ordered it as I never saw a chicken Chashu. I would not call it Chashu, it's confusing.
I ordered extra real Chashu as it was my fault for not seeing it, and it did taste good, but I personally like thicker Chashu pieces.
I hope to come back again in the future and...

The Wafu Ramen Bar offers an incredibly authentic and satisfying experience. The ramen itself is absolutely delicious—rich, flavorful broth, perfectly cooked noodles, and tender meat. You can really taste the care and quality in every bowl. I recommend the creamy tomato shrimp soup or the classic miso.
What makes this place even more special is the atmosphere. You sit right at the bar, just a few feet away from the chefs, and can watch them prepare everything fresh in front of you. The setting is cozy and well-designed, with a minimalist Japanese aesthetic that feels both modern and traditional at the same time.
All of the staff are Japanese and genuinely friendly, always wearing a smile and greeting you warmly. Their presence adds to the feeling of being in a small ramen shop somewhere in Japan. The service is fast, attentive, and welcoming.
Prices are fair, considering the quality of the food and experience. Can‘t wait to come back the next time im...
Read moreI haven't been to the other WAFU branches during my very short visit to Budapest, but based on what I have tasted today, I will say if you are one who needs your authentic Asian food fix while traveling, this is definitely worth your time and stomach to pop by if you want Japanese food.
The food is great (just look at the egg guys) The atmosphere is very nice(You see the "No-Face" figure from Spirited Away?😆) The staffs are incredibly friendly and helpful. They pay close attention to their customers and are always ready to help. - The music sets the groove and definitely "teleports" you into Japan with the older J-Pop Playlist together with Izakaya layout(please correct me if I'm wrong) of the restaurant.
Will definitely pop by again if I drop by Budapest again for holidays.
Congratulations on your 1st anniversary, wishing the team all the best and great success!
P.s. 店長 I heard Yebisu beer tastes...
