Tonight we was told by the owner he was closing however we could get a takeaway so we opted for this as we needed a quick bite before a trip. Once the food was ready I questioned the order as I was missing an item which I thought was strange. After I left I checked what I had paid and realised I had paid for the item however the man who served me ignored that I did and told me I wasn't charged and I was. He was very rude from the moment we walked in. We were opposite so ate quickly and went back out for a trip and 30 minutes later we passed and there were two tables of guest eating. Absolutely disgusting treatment from the place and I wish I hadn't spent a penny given he was rude and dishonest for no reason what so ever. Could be ignored if the food was pleasant but again poor! Least pleasant experience I have had since...

Disclaimer: I might be biased about this place. We landed in Reykjavik on the 24th evening, and almost all restaurants were closed for Christmas Eve. This was one of the very few places that was serving food that night. So, had it not been for this place, we would have gone hungry on our first night in Iceland.

Coming to the food, it was actually quite nice. We had two wraps - the falafel wrap and the lamb doner. Both were quite good. I noticed a lot of people complained that the paper being stuck to their wrap. I am happy to say that they have changed their paper. They use butter paper around the wrap now so it does not stick to the wrap. Their wraps are also quite wholesome with a generous filling of both meat/falafel and vegetables. I really liked the wrap, and I really liked the service...

Food was simple and nothing special. The crazy breakfast burrito was mediocre. It would have been much better if the avocado was ready to consume and the potatoes were shredded, or at least cut into smaller cubes. Cappuccinos are my jam and the cappuccino at Durum was very bland.

As for my wife, she ordered the Ceasar salad with chicken, bacon and avocado. She left 90% of the dish untouched so I jumped in. Once again, the avocado was not ready, the chicken was, I actually don't know how to explain the chicken. Simply put: terrible. Reminded me of the frozen, precooked chicken you get from Costco. Bacon was awesome, but who can ruin bacon? Exactly, no one.

All in all, I think there are many other options that are worthy of your...

Very happy we found this place so soon into our trip to Iceland! They have a great selection of sandwiches and breakfast foods. I'd consider eating here for breakfast or lunch. The coffee options are also quite good! The staff was friendly and there was no problem figuring out what we wanted as the menu was in English. The food was very tasty and we'll definitely be back for more! I uploaded a picture of the omelette and yogurt breakfasts with two cappuccinos :)

Small place, excellent atmosphere and reasonable prices. 💰My boyfriend got a durum, which he was very pleased with. I got a cesar chicken salad. Both parts were fresh and especially the salad was really delicious! 🤩 Big praise for the salad - maybe it just needed a small slice of bread to complete the experience. Cozy and delicious food. 😃

Worst donair I’ve had. They grilled it with the paper on and the paper ended up sticking to the donair and ripping it apart when I took the paper off. Hardly any chicken inside, and the flavour wasn’t great either. Watery sauce. Sorry guys, I just didn’t like it. Service was good though 👌🏻
