Wow, very disappointing experience! The servers are inattentive & this is probably the worst service at a restaurant I've ever had. We ordered two pizzas to share for a small group. We finished up eating & we had one slice left. We waited & waited for a server to check in on us...well they didn't. They aimlessly were hovering far away from the only four tables they had in the restaurant. We tried to flag our original server at one point but he either didn't hear us or ignored us. We waited a bit again & tried to flag a different server's attention. This server was thin, with dark straight short hair, and a bit of a tan complexion (I didn't get his name otherwise I'd list it). Everyone was full so I asked for a box or to-go container for the slice of pizza. (Note this place is pricey so we wanted to take the slice back to the hotel). He said, "It's only one piece you should eat it." We all said we were full. And he kept staring at us with an obvious pissed off look. We wanted to take it to go because we don't want it to go to waste. He then said he would take it. We were waiting for him to bring it back but he never did!!! He chose to throw it away even though I asked twice for a to-go container, box, etc. And of course, he didn't come back to the table with our check or the slice of pizza...a different person came over with the check. All in all the pizza was good but it's not worth going to a restaurant that has staff that treats it's customers so...

Let me start by saying that in the week we have been in Iceland, this restaurant is at the bottom. We waited for 15 minutes so they could clean a table, only to be seated at a table that was open and clean when we walked in. It was like they forgot us. While waiting we watched another couple ask for their drinks multiple times. We ordered and the food was just ok. Not bad - you just had this feeling it was missing something but you didn't know what. The couple that was seated just in front of us had their meal and left before our food hit the table. While eating we watched another table ask for their desert three or four times and had three different people check on it before it arrived. We also watched a gentlemen try to get a table for one and be refused. As someone that travels for business, often by myself, this just hit a nerve.

Is the food great - no (and the guy that makes the pizza had his act together). Is it a good place to eat - no (loud music, long wait, staff that didn't have hop in their step). There are other places you should try...

I don't want to knock the entire menu as I do not know, but the bolognese was the worst I have ever had in my entire life.

I literally almost left it, but it was so expensive that I forced it down, lol. I don't know if the recipe is like that all of the time or if they did not take the time to slowly prepare it, but oh my was it awful. You probably could have mashed the spaghetti as well as it was wayyyyy overcooked. I'd seriously recommend getting a new recipe if that's how it always is.

Again, I don't know. Maybe you all will have better luck than me, but holy crap.

Maybe Iceland just doesn't do Italian food well as this was the second place that was just horrid.

I also found the Spanish music to be very unconventional in an "Italian" establishment.

Overall, not a cool experience whatsoever. I'll be back in Iceland soon, but I will probably not return to this...

If you or someone in your traveling party is gluten free, Rossopomidoro is your place in Reykjavik! They have gluten free pasta and pizza. Not a few items but ANY of the items on the menu. Nothing is listed as gluten free on the menu. You need to ask the server and they can make and accommodate any menu item. Simply amazing. Before you judge the price and portions. You're traveling in Iceland. All food is expensive here. Portion sizes are a good size. They're not ridiculous America sizes if you're visiting from the United States. But still a good size and filling. We tried the Risoto del pescatore and the gluten free Penne con pancetta e Pollo. Both were delicious. The Penne con pancetta e Pollo was a very good portion! The baileys and coffee was equally delicious. The staff is friendly and very helpful as well.

Discovered this place after being in Reykjavík for several days. Food is exceptionally good with a nice atmosphere. Wasn't busy when we arrived but there's a heavy demand on restaurants in Reykjavík. The staff were trying to cope with a massive influx just as we left & it appeared to be getting very chaotic (moving tables around etc). They also have a habit of taking dishes whilst you're still eating & had to tell them several times not to remove things. Also noticed a group of Americans on an adjacent table had 1x starter delivered whilst the other 3x waited absolutely AGES for theirs. Also had our mains delivered whilst still eating our starters. Staff/kitchen/management need to improve on their timing & basic restaurant etiquette to push this to the next level. Great food though!
