Like many of the other Chinese customers we saw that day, came here after days of sandwiches/potatoes/fish & chips for our Asian food fix. The restaurant is pretty typical Chinese with basic decor and lukewarm but fast service.
We ordered the Peking duck 鸭子 and it wasn’t bad, although it was fried instead of roasted for reasons the server gave but I couldn’t hear (and probably explains why they didn’t list it as 北京烤鸭). In any case, it tasted fine although the meat was quite dry. Veggies were good, the standard restaurant taste, although it was sad that it was mostly broccoli/cauliflower, with only a little Napa cabbage and some lettuce. The beef noodles 牛肉面 weren’t bad, but the noodles were extremely overcooked (and this is coming from someone who likes soft noodles). Beef was tender even if not amazingly fresh, but sadly they put lettuce in this - could they not have found any bok choy? Still, this place was good enough to satiate the Chinese food craving, especially given what I imagine must be limited...
Read moreThe chili chicken I ordered had very little meat and was drowning in red peppercorns. I looked at photos of this dish online, thinking it was supposed to be like this, but nowhere did I see nearly as many peppercorns as mine had. It was basically inedible this way and I had to pick the small pieces of poor-quality meat out. The meat itself was overcooked and had very little flavour. The chili peppers were dried and I guess they were supposed to be cooked in oil, but they were completely bland and not at all spicy. Furthermore, not a single piece of vegetable came with this meal, although there was a plaster rose on the plate as decoration. Even a single piece of carrot or a leaf of lettuce would have been preferable to a piece of plaster! The only reason I'm not giving one star is because my partner's dish of lamb was quite tasty, although also very small. We had to go down the street to order more food as we left still hungry. Definitely not...
Read more“In this cold and icy season, nothing can confers more happiness than a warm and tasty homie food”. I borrowed the quote from the menu of Fine Restaurant. Now you could feel how serious the chef treat his work, it’s absolutely a high level Chinese restaurant I have ever tasted! The lamb soup is exactly like the common but comforting one in China, only difference is purely simmered with lamb, but in China you have a “mixed staff”😊. The Chicken must be with magic approach, they taste so well and feel like easily melting in your mouth; Only, only, one point I just want to give my humble suggestion, it will be so great to invest a bit more for the decorations of the restaurant, putting some more light and make the floor looks a bit renovated, this will for sure bring the Fine Restaurant to...
