I don’t know anything about a discount.” Wederom: “I didn’t know.”

I'll just leave my comment here, since Hressó cooks food for other restaurants and than delievers it over. I ordered a burger, it came completely raw - after super long wait. I complained to the waitress and she said she'll fix that. I waited another 20min for another raw burger. Actually raw and cold, both of them. I could have forgiven the first time if the second burger was cooked, but it wasn't. So all I can say - please avoid that place if you're hungry. You're going to end up both hungry and upset, after getting cold, raw and tasteless food that takes them super long time to prepare. Don't need to mention that it isn't the 'cheapest food you can get...

After stumbling around the area, our group came across this establishment which offered more traditional dishes of Iceland.

Our server Iga was incredibly friendly and fun to talk with. She gave her honest opinion on some dishes and encouraged us as well to try some more adventurous items like the Icelandic Tasting Plate. It was interesting for sure, however the pastes were unfortunately not too much for our taste. Nevertheless it was worth trying it all.

After my soup we wrapped it up with a delicious dessert. We can definitely recommend coming here. Iga...

My wife and I discovered this place on our first night in Reykjavik. We did a food lovers tour and they brought us here to try the fish stew. We enjoyed it so much we vowed to come back before we left..on our last night we returned for dinner. This place is awesome....completely unassuming, great food, friendly staff and amazing prices (by Reykjavik standards). The fish stew, fish and chips and house cake are delicious. If it weren't for the food tour we would have totally walked past this place....so glad we discovered it. I can't wait to eat here on my next trip.

We had a great dinner here. The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome and we even had a joke around which was lovely. We went on a very busy night so it did take a little while to get food but it was worth it in the end. Price wise we didn’t think it was too bad (for us with a main and dessert plus a non alcoholic drink came to roughly £32 pp) everyone enjoyed their meals (fish & chips, fish cakes and cheeseburger) so would highly recommend if you’re looking for a place that does Icelandic food and just standard gastropub fare.
