Read moreOn the final day of our trip to Reykjavik, we stumbled upon Posthus Food Hall, just around the corner from our hotel. We had walked past it several times, already set on dining elsewhere, but what a mistake that was! As soon as we stepped inside, the vibrant atmosphere and delicious aromas hit us, and we instantly knew we had missed out.
The hall buzzes with energy, packed with locals and tourists alike, navigating through bustling aisles lined with diverse food stalls. Each stall offers a unique glimpse into global cuisines, providing an impressive variety of flavors that you don’t often find in one spot. From savory to sweet, every craving was catered to, and the quality of food was top-notch.
The prices were also a pleasant surprise, especially for Reykjavik, where dining out can really stretch your wallet. Posthus Food Hall offers great value, making it a must-visit for anyone looking for delicious meals without the hefty price tag typical of other local restaurants.
Leaving Posthus, we were filled with both delicious food and a bit of regret for not discovering it sooner. If you’re in Reykjavik, don’t make the same mistake we did—give Posthus Food Hall a try early...

The building is old and used to be the main post office in Reykjavík, and I like that the interior has been allowed to retain the old-fashioned charm and wooden floors. I can therefore not give the atmosphere more than three stars, and those are for the welcoming interiors and friendly staff.
I had the Bhangra Salad from Funky Bhangra, which blends together traditional Indian flavours with a nice balance of fresh greens, sweet pumpkin, tart mango and spicy (but not hot) chicken vindaloo. My companion had a very good pizza marinara from Pizza Popolare. We both enjoyed the food and would eat there again if the music were turned...
