Tres Locos, The Three Crazies because they are crazy…crazy racist. The food was good but the service was terrible. As we sat there for 20 minutes giving the benefit of the doubt we listened to the racist terrible music playing with maybe 2 songs that were authentic, after 40 minutes it was ridiculous and we were fed up. They sat a Euro-white couple behind us maybe Icelandic couple, which normally shouldn’t matter but to the restaurant it definitely did in a manner of 10 minutes they were seated had drinks and starter nachos and even fajitas. I mention this because we ordered the same thing but still hadn’t received a thing, furious I found the manager having to demand my presence be known because being kind here was not working. I explained how discriminatory it felt but the manager assured us it wasn’t so and claimed it was because they were waiting on the nachos that take long so they were holding the entrees. If so, why did the couple that arrive 30mins after us get them before us? I explained we hadn’t even received a dessert menu, and she measly hands me the menu. Why did it take me having to go to the bar, ask for a manager to get service as a crowd of onlookers consisting of waitresses and customers to get some halfway service. Although kind, she was naive about her staff and making excuses. After the complaint the food was immediately served and the nachos were barely warm, indicating they had been waiting there. The waitress didn’t want to make eye contact anymore and would rush by us after talking to the manager, maybe embarrassment but at least we had our food. We were ready to leave but the manger came over and explained that we would get a 50% discount and a dessert on the house. It’s a shame everything was good but the service was horrible and the staff didn’t share the manager’s kindness. I’d recommend sensitivity training or at the least education on how to be nice to POC, especially the ones who come for the culture the restaurant is...

We were excited to try the place as everyone we know recommended it to us so we booked a table for my birthday back in September. The tables are tiny and there’s not much space between them. The appetizers and main course were nice and service was okay, although I did have to remind our waitress twice about a drink I ordered. The restaurant was busy so not that big of a deal. What ruined our experience completely was their famous chocolate skull dessert which we ordered to share. The dessert looks absolutely amazing, unfortunately it contains alcohol (Rum) which is not in the description on their menu. I took one bite of the dessert and as soon as I tasted the rum I realised that we were not going to be able to eat the dessert as I don’t like the taste of rum and my boyfriend doesn’t consume alcohol. Getting ready to leave I mentioned to the waitress that we were dissatisfied with the dessert and that nowhere on the menu did it say that the dessert contained rum. As we only had one bite of it, and had we known that it contained alcohol we wouldn’t have ordered it in the first place, we kindly asked for it to be removed from our bill and explained why. The answer we got was that “We expect our customers to just know that the dessert contains alcohol”. After reminding the waitress again that nowhere on the menu did it say anything about alcohol she finally agreed to subtract the dessert from our bill, no apology just her making us feel like the biggest annoyance of the night. Wouldn’t...

was looking for an actual meal while out in reykjavík and stumble upon tres locos.. my wife and i are mexican american so we thought why not? read some reviews that said service was horrible but food was good.. we didn’t think that would be the case for us BUT, sadly it was. we got discriminated QUICKLY. got seated, got menus, got water after 10 minutes, 30-40 minutes pass, still haven’t ordered, 50 minutes later we finally get to order but that was after my wife said something, and 5 minutes later a couple gets seated behind us, for them only a minute had to go by for water, their order to be taken and maybe 10 minutes for their food to be out. mean while over an hr and we still had no food just salsas after we complained. just salsa.. for what idk. i spoke to someone as well bc it was getting ridiculous, my wife spoke to a manager because everyone else was extremely rude to her. the manager thankfully was the sweetest person we met that night, sadly she still didn’t get and understand how her staff made us feel, just made excuses. it’s a bummer bc the food was good but the racism was thru the roof. we wanted to pay full price bc we can afford and didn’t want pity, but they did discount 50% of our order and got us free dessert. but 2/10, would never recommend to a person of color bc a discount and free food doesn’t fix that...
