After enjoying a session of bookreading in Cubbon Park, we decided to have brunch. Considering the positive reviews on Google, we chose Burnout Cafe as our destination. We ordered a variety of items: hot and cold Irish coffees, watermelon mojito, spinach and broccoli pasta, lasagna, and non-veg bao.
Our experience started off with the watermelon mojito, which had an unexpected bubble gum flavor. Then, to our surprise, the waiter served us a hot Irish coffee instead of the cold one we had requested. Ironically, the temperature of the coffee was neither hot nor cold but rather room temperature. We requested the cold Irish coffee separately, but it also failed to meet our expectations of being cold.
Moving on to the main course, the non-veg bao turned out to be more like dumplings and didn't have the authentic bao taste we were hoping for. Although the taste was decent, it didn't match our expectations for a bao dish. As for the spinach and broccoli pasta (spaghetti), it was difficult to discern which sauce had been used. It resembled more of a roadside fast food noodle dish, and the taste fell short of being satisfying.
Finally, after enduring this disappointing culinary experience and waiting for around 30-40 minutes, the lasagna arrived. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to the anticipation built during the wait.
Overall, if you're looking for good food, there are better places to explore. The ratings this place has received might be attributed to other offerings they have...
Read moreVisited Burnout Infantry Road on one sunny afternoon with my friend after checking their Instagram page which had an offer for second hookah at 99. After ordering the first one, which was amazing, decided to go for the second one at the offer rate, but realized it is valid only on ordering two at the start itself.
Nonetheless, spoke to the staff and the owner Mr Abhishek, who were kind enough to offer me a flavour change at 99/- in the same pot.
Coming to the items we ordered: Cream of Chicken Soup: Was pretty good, with a decent amount of chicken chunks.
Chicken Club Sandwich: The sandwich came with layers of omelette, chicken mince, cheese, veggies such as tomatoes, onions and cucumbers and mayo. It was huge! Took the two of us quite some time to finish it.
Masala Chai: The chai was handmade to perfection. Loved it.
Paan Rajnigandha + Nirvana Hookah with Milk Base: This flavour was amazing. Initially, the smoke was less, but as the flavour started to warm up, combined with the milk base, it gave amazing clouds.
Saffron Hookah Flavour Change: This was mild at the start, but soon the flavours came to the fore.
The service was amazing despite only two staff manning the restaurant, and the place in itself was pretty. Definitely would...

And guess what he got the order for the soup WRONG! when I told him the waiter ARGUED with me stating I am the one who's WRONG! I asked him to get my order corrected and guess what no apology for the behavior! He served us with soup that smelled of OIL! Health hazardous, I told him again about this and quess what? HE AGAIN ARGUED with me and my office colleagues! We were there to celebrate my colleague farewell! HIS EXACT WORDS WERE ISME OIL HI MILEGA! are you kidding me? You want me to eat oil instead of soup? This experience was horrifying! I humbly request this issue is looked on to. I am very disappointed. Please train your STAFF with BASIC AND ETIQUETTES!...
