Scottish Pub is an easy to miss place on the sidewalk of the ever busy and bustling St.Mark's Road. It's 1-2 buildings behind Truffles. But once you enter inside, you'll wonder how you ever missed such a gem of a pub!
Valet parking is available. For cars, it shall be parked on the designated car parking area right beside the road and for 2 wheelers, it's on the footpath.
Ambience- 4/5: This is a very old pub renovated from what I heard and an old pub vibe is exactly what you'll get. Slightly dull lit, old style chairs and an old classy bar set up. If you're someone who loves visiting places that gave Bangalore its charm, you'll appreciate this place.
Food- 5/5: We ordered a bunch of starters like the mushroom Manchurian, prawn platter, Scottish omelette and onion rings and onion pakoda. I can speak about the quality of the veg dishes. They had a very old school bar type of making and presentation. Simple, to the point and finger licking good. The Scottish omelette had some cheese along with and was something very unique and worth ordering. My friends said the prawn platter (or seafood platter) was exceptional as well.
Drinks- 5/5: In an old pub, you'd expect all the classics and heavy pours. That's exactly what you'll get here. The red wine sangria was delicious, and came with a full glass of strong alcohol concentration. The LIIT was hands down the best I've ever had. A new LIIT king has been crowned! 60 ml pour per spirit made a powerful concoction. Pair it with the dim lit ambience, it'll send you on an adventure. The Old fashioned served as a washdown in the end and was a fitting drink given the ambience. My only complaint was that they had a bunch of cocktails unavailable due to the unavailability of a particular spirit. Do keep your bar in full stock cause I'd have definitely wanted to try a few of those.
Service- 5/5: It was a weekend afternoon but there weren't a lot of folks so our drinks and food were delivered quickly. The staff was kind enough to recommend both food and drinks and were quick to take small requests like getting ketchup or mayo.
So, all in all, this is Bangalore's old glory hidden by the urbanization around it and you'll be glad to discover this gem. Affordable rates, delectable grub and potent potions served in a place that reflects the vibe of an era before most of us were born, you'd want this experience...

Read moreKnown as Bangalore's OG pub for its lesser prices yet without compromise on the quality of its drinks & food, this pub was introduced to me a few months ago by a friend of mine.
For my very first visit, I had LIIT which was strong & excellent, not watered down unlike other pubs / bars where the drinks are highly priced yet super diluted. This was not the case with Scottish Pub as it maintained its quality. The food is excellent, especially the Pizzas, Nachos, The La Gee Gee Style Prawns (Highly Recommended) & Chicken Sliders. The downside is that the quantity is lesser compared to the other places where the pricing is the same as Scottish Pub. If only they would slightly increase the quantity, it would be lovely.
However, all of a sudden, Scottish Pub has drastically increased the prices of their drinks & food by a good INR 100/- to INR 150/- per dish & watered down all its drinks, thanks to them gaining popularity through Instagram reels in the recent times.
The owners of this place fell into the trap of the Instagram reels and while in the short term it may be beneficial to them, they will lose their regular patrons in the long-term who have been visiting them since ages now. I really hope they realize this & take necessary steps to avoid the place becoming your typical Instagram place to maintain its charm & quality.
This no longer remains your affordable OG...
