The Merak Brewhouse — Restaurant in Bengaluru

A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT.. To be honest there is nothing great about this place and it is below average.. instead of burning your money here, you will find much much better options at any other normal cafes in Bangalore in-terms of food, ambience, service!! -Very very limited menu. -Food wasn’t good at all. Do not waste your money on overpriced tasteless food.. Also, they will not customise any of the dish if you have allergies or dietary restrictions. Funny! -Service wasn’t pleasant. The table which the waiter escorted us to was dirty, she did not even bother to get it cleaned before hosting the guest. Which is really PATHETIC for a 5 star. -Ambience is alright.

I really had high hopes since it was a restaurant by JW Marriott but did not expect such hospitality and experience from such a reputed brand!!!

JW Marriott, you definitely need to do better.

Also, for some odd reason the concierge manager of the hotel did not let us click pictures and addressed us quite rudely and when we asked the reason he was not able to answer.

Suggest you to improve your hospitality...

Merak located in JW Marriott hotel is an urban escapade place which will kind of connect you with an oasis of greenery, quietness where you can enjoy relax, enjoy your drink or even having a meeting etc. I love the thought process behind the decor of this place, you will see plants hanging from the roof, the surrounding, the blue pool makes it more serene which adds a water element to this place. In terms of food, they have more of a quick bite but with lot of work process into the each dish that they serves. My favorite dishes were Asparagus chestnuts broccoli dish, Naga chilly mushrooms was amazing and love the spice in it, the Mezze platter was amazing. Not to forget the Cantonese style lobster was delectable, and the not so usual bhel Puri was definitely not usual but love it. They have quite a variety of dishes where you can try and pair your food with your drink. They serves Corona, variety of cocktails and mocktails also. The staff are as usual very courtesy and kind. I love the place and can't wait to go back and try more of...

I made an online reservation for a party of 15 through Dineout. I got an email confirmation as well. Since it was a large group, I called up the restaurant around 1:00 PM for the 6:15PM party to confirm. They gave me a shocker saying they have not received any online booking. When I got the dineout in the Concall, the Merak team changed the version saying they never said about not receiving the online booking but were only telling that they do not have the large table to accommodate 15.

Merak did provide some tense moments and came across as very unwelcoming. Not sure why they were reluctant to confirm the booking. ??? This was definitely not the JW MARRIOTT experience I was expecting.

My advise is to call up the restaurant directly to make the bookings. Also, ask the Merak team to send the confirmation via email or whatsapp so they don't retract.
