Food: we had gone for the afternoon tea or high tea set and I have to say that it was a below average in my eyes. We went for the vegetarian set, one serves two. We ordered 2 sets for four pax. It had cucumber sandwiches, which tasted average. There were some asparagus in pastry, which was again was not outstanding but meeting expectations. Lastly, among savouries there was a bruschetta type thing, which was the best among all the three savoury items. Moving to the dessert, there was the worst fruit cake on planet Earth that was as dry as the planet Dune, some shortbread cookies which were palatable and this hideous chocolate cookie. There were no scones, there was some flat cookie thing which perhaps stood in place of it, but I can’t in full faith call those abominations scones. There was a chocolate cake but it was too insipid for me to bother beyond the first bite. It had a strange tough texture that I couldn’t fathom.
Service: moving on to service, we had the most inattentive wait staff who couldn’t even be bothered to refill our tea cups. He had to be flagged down after many attempts and asked if we needed to order more tea as there had been no refills. He only obliged after that. The lack of attention is so opposed to my earlier experience of the Oberoi resort in Bali, where the manager of the restaurant was so sensitive to guests’ needs that on noticing that I hadn’t eaten my meal, not only asked for feedback but insisted to have it struck off the bill. In this case, the staff couldn’t even be bothered to refill the tea.
Will I return to this restaurant? Most definitely not. I’ve had their buffet before and found it lacklustre. And now my experience of their high tea has taught me that the staff here are not well trained and the food is of mediocre quality. So I would not recommend this...
Read moreThreeSixtyThree° at The Oberoi Grand is probably the best buffet experience you can have in Kolkata. Sitting in any table you have a wonderful view of the garden and the pool . Their Restaurant team is one of the best in class , they genuinely care about your experience .
The dishes ranged from bread and salad to sushi , roasted pork belly, various Indian dishes. I’m certainly not exaggerating but each and every dishes were top notch. They offer cuisines like French , Chinese, Japanese, Thai , Indian etc . I’m gonna definitely remember their dishes like roasted pork belly, mushroom sushi , Lamb soup , French Benedict, phyllo pastry and the Chai Tea cream brûlée ( the after taste was astonishing ) . Dessert section had gulab jamun , baked Sandesh , rosh malai , waffle, icecream and various complex desserts too . Biryani , chicken curry , Galouti and bhetki preparation had a warmth of homemade food .
As we opted for brunch buffet with alcohol , I choose sparkling wine and red wine to go with all those dishes I tried . It would be unfair to say they offer wide variety of dishes compared to other 5 stars buffets but the dishes they serve is made with ultimate care and there wasn’t any dish I didn’t like .
-Buffet cost ( with alcohol) ₹3000 for one ( tax included) -Buffet cost ( with out alcohol) ₹2000 for one ( tax included)
You can definitely opt for their a-la-carte as well .

The chairs are uncomfortable and you'll be seated near a buffet where people would just continuously walk around you.
Coming to the food. It is quite good and different. Even though we didn't get any help from our waitress Riya who felt pretty cold and awkward. Her suggestions were "whatever you want. It depends."
We had
Complimentary bread with butter: 3.5/5 The butter felt cheap
Meat and Seafood kebab platter: 5/5 ( comes with a side of kala daal, one Indian bread of choice, mint chutney)
Smoked Boneless Hilsa: 4/5 (-1 because the server didn't use a Turner or spatula but a fork and knife and broke the delicate fish pretty badly)
Sikandari Raan: 5/5 ( The portion is quite big and the tastes very unique - served with a side of 2 Indian Breads)
Blueberry Cheesecake with Raspberry Sorbet: 5/5
(We wanted brown butter and bourbon gelato but they said they didn't have any)
I would like to highlight that Sanjay is a server there who is the reason why I didn't give service a 1. He came to the table with the raan and some cutlery but it was a delight. This man is the sole reason why I am not completely miserable about my visit. He is a 1000/5
Wouldn't be visiting ThreeSixtyThree anytime soon. Pretty bad considering the cost of this experience.
I have never been as disappointed with an establishment as...
