Fountain Sizzlers — Restaurant in Mumbai

This restaurant was recommended by one of our colleagues .. so we, a group of 5 decided to check out this place yesterday.

Overall i found this place very pricey with zero class esp with respect to their platter presentation ... I did not find this place upto the mark ... Read on for a detailed review.

The ambience is warm with subtle lighting very relaxing .. and the restaurant is very conveniently located just around the flora fountain at fort, bang opp our Bombay High court.

Food :- we had ordered two chicken sizzlers - I think it was chicken shaslik with spaghetti and the third one was a fish sizzler with barbeque sauce served with rice.

Price :- Very pricey and not classy at all ... Our bill came up to 4118/- for just 3 sizzlers! We wanted to binge on their desserts .. but each desert was priced at nothing less than 450/- and above. 😅🤑 So ditched the desserts!!

Prep time & Presentation :- Prep time taken was impressively quick .. however .. presentation lacked totally. We did not click a pic as the platter looked so messed up we did not feel like clicking one .. it appeared exactly like one of the pics posted by other reviewers here ... the platter looked exactly as can be seen in one of the pics posted here .. it looked very messy ... The platter definitely lacks presentation .. it felt like the few items were just dumped and rushed to serve ..

Taste :- The chicken used was not fresh but frozen, though it was marinated well but it felt like it may have been frozen for a long time and then used to cook as the chicken was breaking in crumbles. The sauces were prepared well. The veggies tossed were appropriately steamed. And the potato chunks were well done.

Fish platter .. hardly got enough of the fish to taste however the fries were interesting. The rice cooked in sauce was a Lil mushy kind a like soggy .. probably because the rice was a Lil overcooked.

We ordered their Garlic sauce which did add to the flavors.

The quantity served in one platter is adequate for 2 people.

Staff and Service :- The staff was friendly .. no doubt very warm and welcoming! ☺️

However, the person serving us the food definitely needs a Lil training or maybe he was in haste probably ..

1. the food was being spilled over while being served ..
2. he was dumping the food on our plates ... Like I noticed that he first served us the chicken and then served the spaghetti over the chicken and the veggies were topped on it despite there being enough place on our plates .. 🥴

For the above reasons and experience, Overall I would not recommend this place for sizzlers .. as we have many more other better sizzler joints than this one. I definitely missed pop tates...

What stands out - The sizzlers of course

We went here on a weeknight for dinner at around 9 pm in a group of 6. The place was pretty full and there was waiting by the time we left. The place is conveniently located near the fountain. The tables are pretty average and quite comfortable. This is a family restaurant so expect some kids jumping around.

Despite having a lot more non-veg options on the menu, they have some amazing vegetarian dishes. The service is pretty average though. We did face some minor issues but nothing significant enough to mention. The food in general is pretty amazing. The sizzlers are good and so are the other dishes on offer especially the sandwiches. Strongly recommend the pestowich sandwich. The desserts though are a bit of a disappointment.

Munchow soup - 10/10 Chilli cheese toast - 9/10 Alfredo sauce penne pasta - 7/10 Veg fried rice - 9/10 Peri peri cottage cheese sizzler - 10/10 Fountain veggies sizzler - 9/10 Berry punch - 10/10 Peach and apricot ice tea - 8/10 Lychee and lime colada - 8/10 Virgin Mojito - 9/10 Sizzling brownie with ice cream - 7/10 Blueberry cheesecake - 8/10 Mississippi chocolate mud pie - 6/10

All in all this is a go-to place for some sizzlers. A good family restaurant that offers some lip...

Loved the place! It has been on my list for a while, but never actually got around to going there, but when I did, I can say it is totally worth it. Sizzlers and food in general was excellent, and the staff especially Mr Fardeen and Mr Sachin, were very professional, welcoming and courteous. It was a busy day and there were five of us, and the city was bottlenecked because of heavy traffic. Despite that Mr Sachin kept the table for us very sweetly for a good twenty minutes, thank you very much Sachin ji. That was indeed very sweet. 😊 The menu was massive, and we had a hard time deciding what to order 😅 that’s when Mr Fardeen stepped in and suggested each of us a dish according to our preference. Mr Fardeen knew the menu like the back of his hand, and all of his recommendations were fabulous. Be it the blackened fish sizzler that I ordered, or the mixed grill.... the teriyaki prawns sizzler he recommended was one of the best! Such massive prawns, that were grilled so perfectly. He made sure each of us had a good order and a good experience and made sure nothing was lacking. Very warm and courteous of him to even give us extra sides on request 😅 Fardeen bhai is a thorough gentleman, and he even gave us ice cream on the house!
