Public Restaurant — Restaurant in Mumbai

Me and my friends visited Public Restaurant near CSTM for lunch a few days ago. We ordered Kappa & Meen Curry, Biriyani, Palli Curry & Ghee Rice, and Fish Curry Meals. Unfortunately, the food was just average—nothing special.

Biriyani lacked the authentic Kerala flavors we expected. Kappa & Meen Curry was pretty decent. Palli Curry & Ghee Rice were okay, but the curry could have been more flavorful. Fish Curry Meals were just average, missing the punch of real Kerala-style spices.

I used to pass by this restaurant Everytime I went to vt to buy photography equipment or wool from pradhans. Each time I would be enticed by the keralite food aromas emmenating from here. Finally one day I took my boys to this place and we ate real authentic keralite food which was so delicious and filling. The portions were ample and the stuff totally different from our usual stuff. I was happy to eat even the simple thaali which was just so reasonably priced. Great place to eat authentic cuisine at reasonable prices, but the ambiance is not that great so if that's not a problem for you then it's a good eatery as the waiters and owners are quiet...

It's a small restaurant located at walkable distance from CST, where you get superb kerala dishes. We had surmai fry (100 rs) , panner masala(Rs.100) and obviously the most wanted meat of kerala (Rs.95) ! We had this along with kerala porotta and I must say their porottas are huge and 3 should be more than enough for an average person. The taste of all the items were really good. The paneer masala especially was really good. They do give free fish/chicken gravies. Only thing i felt was that their fish was slightly overpriced for the kind of portion we received.
