Read moreA complete childhood favourite, I keep visiting and revisiting Vitthal time and again for it's Bhel and other Chaat delicacies and I'm so glad that the taste is just the same as it was 30 years ago. The size of restaurant and the customer base may have shrunk but certainly not the mind blowing flavours of their chaat.
I love their Bhel, Sev puri, Dahi Batata Puri, Pani puri and Moong chat among other things. They also serve other stuff like Khichdi, soups, bhajiyas etc. for those who aren't in the mood to have their famed chaats. I recently tried their Ragda Bhel which was interesting take on their standard Kurmura bhel mixed with Ragda. I hope they grow and once again reach the glory that Vitthal Bhelwala commanded not...

Back then the space was open, vast ground n sea view (which is now marine drive)... People used to just roam in open and the place was also called hawaai khana.. So BHEL was the huge hit for visitors there. Need to...
