We enjoyed dinner at Dumbo so much that we came back for a second visit! The first time, we dined upstairs in their stylish restaurant, and the second, we opted for the relaxed vibe of the downstairs bar. Both experiences were fantastic. The team at Dumbo were incredible—friendly, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. They took the time to ask about any allergies and offered thoughtful recommendations to suit. Service was quick and efficient, and the prices were very reasonable considering the excellent quality of the food and drinks. Their signature cocktails, cleverly named after iconic albums, were a highlight. Delicious and creative, they added a fun twist to the experience. The venue, owned by a well-known DJ from Sydney and Byron Bay, also features his personal collection of retro tracks, which you can request to play—such a cool touch! The atmosphere at Dumbo is laid-back yet sophisticated. The architecturally designed space incorporates natural local materials like timber, stone, and bamboo, paired with lush furnishings to create a moody and edgy vibe that feels perfectly at home in Ubud. Dumbo’s menu focuses on Italian cuisine, with standout 48-hour sourdough wood-fired pizzas, mouthwatering pastas, entrees, and sides, all made with the finest local ingredients. Every dish we tried was absolutely delicious, and the flavors really shone through. If you’re in the Ubud area and looking for top-notch food, creative cocktails, and retro beats in a relaxed yet stylish setting, I can’t recommend Dumbo enough. It’s the kind of place you’ll want to visit more than once!

We loved the ambiance, staff, drinks & food soo much we came here 3 nights in a row! We started off with their 2 for 1 happy hour drinks (nightly 5-7). The melopolitan was a refreshing go to-a play on a cosmopolitan with fresh watermelon juice in place of the traditional cranberry. Their fresh local burrata was served alongside their homemade grilled sourdough and fried sourdough bites. The tapenade, pesto, and pepper jam was a perfect pairing. The Arancini balls were another favorite-perfectly fried with a tomato infused rice and cheesy filing. Served on top of a tomato relish & a touch of aioli. We also enjoyed the Insalata Mista with fresh greens and a combo of roasted veggies and crispy pickled Giardinera veggies. The pizzas are made with their 48 hour sourdough dough and finished in their wood fired oven for a well executed crust. With lots of great pizza options- we ordered the Long Hot Summer. It was perfect with a touch of added chili flakes and sea salt. The great music selection was an extra bonus. Their cocktail menu is a a reflection of the homage they pay to some legendary musicians. With cocktails named after music albums-you can even request a song off of any of the listed albums. Downstairs has a cool bar vibe, but the upstairs has a spectacular view over the valley. The crew made us feel right at home each night. We highly recommend this spot for the delicious cocktails and great Vegetarian Italian food.

What a place. The venue is outstanding. You walk in downstairs to a record player and vinyl as far as the eyes can see. We were greeted by Nirvana. The food here is second to none. All vegan or vegetarian but don't let that put you off carnivores. I eat meat but this place cannot be missed. I have to small gripes based on my experience. Firstly, we had been taken to our seats and the waitress walks away. In this time, she seats two other groups, hands them their menus, and serves them their drinks. Around 20 mins later, we received our menus and they took our order. Secondly, we had asked to have our food arrive as it's ready as we like to share our food altogether. They first served our truffle mash and nothing else came out for 15mins. We didn't want it to get cold so we had to eat the mash on its own. A couple of other bits came out so we proceeded to eat. Two mins later, a massive pizza arrives and a huge bowl of pasta. Now I know we said we wanted it to come out when it was ready but there is still an element of timing required. There wasn't enough room on the table and I couldn't get to my pasta before it started to stick together. Do not let this out you off as I would happily go again but I said to my self that I would make an effort to provide constructive reviews on this trip as we have benefited greatly from other reviews on here.
