We've eaten here several times. The buffet options are always the same, which is fine as they are all tasty and you know what you get. The all you can eat (multiple refills) buffet price is 60,000 per person including surcharges, and an optional miso soup is now available at no additional charge. The food includes a jackfruit dish, a pumpkin and long bean dish, a potato and tempe dish, and various salad options including a potato dish, various tempe and tofu dishes, sayur urap, and fresh cucumber, tomato, satay, lettuce, etc. There are no chillies or sambal however, so bring your own if you need that. There are desserts and kumbucha for additional charges. They do have takeaway options, which seem to vary in price if you are local or bule, which is fine. The place is a bit warm and street noise comes in, so don't expect to stay for long times as a coworking place. It is also close to Bintang Supermarket and many ATMs which is great. All up one of the best places with best food and best prices in...
Read moreThis unique little place became our go-to restaurant while we were staying in Ubud. For as little as 60k Rupiah (as of April 2024) you get to eat as much as you want from the buffet, free water, and a miso soup as a starter (if you want it). The procedure is simple. Just walk in, grab a plate and load it with anything from the buffet. You can also take one of the provided boxes and take your food to go. Pay at the counter as you leave. We paid using Google Pay without extra charge (some places ask for up to 3%). The buffet is varied enough that it doesn't get boring, it's all vegan, and tastes surprisingly good for the money you pay for it. We've been to far more expensive places that paled on comparison. There are at least 10 options to choose from, including vegan sushi. The staff is as friendly as any you'll meet. They seem genuinely happy to see you, especially if you come back for more. If we're ever in Ubud again we'll probably come...
Read moreTeratai (which means Lotus) is a regular place I eat in while I was living in Ubud. I still try to go there when I can for so many reasons. Also the location is situated conveniently close to most areas in Ubud.
The food is prepared thoughtfully, considering the highest and most delicious nutritious combination of ingredients. The place is delightfully decorated, clean and the price is placed at such a good value the whole eating experience. If you are looking for a good vegan meal, prepared with beautiful local ingredients and a warm welcoming place to be in then I cannot recommend Teratai enough.
Also Ibu Dewi, the owner of the place, whom I have had the pleasure of having long conversations on Balinese teachings and spirituality is a woman with a deep commitment to serve her best to everyone who chooses to...
