My New Go-To Spot in Ubud
Every now and then, you stumble upon a place that resonates with you and your taste buds in the most delightful way. That's exactly what happened when I discovered Hibiscus Warung in the heart of bustling Ubud. Opened in May 2023, it's a breath of fresh air in the city center, serving up some truly mouth-watering Balinese and international cuisine.
The first thing that struck me about Hibiscus Warung was its simplicity - it's a little oasis amidst the hustle and bustle. Walking in feels like stepping into a calm, inviting bubble where time slows down a little. Noise from the main street is nowhere to be heard.
Now, let's talk food. As someone with a. Plant-based diet, the variety and depth of flavors offered by Hibiscus Warung was a welcome surprise. They've beautifully woven traditional Balinese cooking styles with fresh, local ingredients to create dishes that are nothing short of spectacular. Fantastic veggy options.
The staff were really the cherry on top, their warm, genuine service giving the place an even more homey feel. It was clear they cared about creating a delightful dining experience for everyone who walked through “the door”.
To sum it up, if you find yourself in Ubud and in need of a pause from the busy city center and of a great meal, make sure to give Hibiscus Warung a visit. This calm, serene spot is definitely now on my list of favorites. The charming atmosphere, fantastic food, and friendly staff make it a place worth returning to,...

The staff were an absolute delight, greeting us with warmth and friendliness. The food – not only was it reasonably priced, but it was also incredibly yummy! I couldn't resist trying the Mie Goreng, and it was amazingly delicious! Also the fresh juices – they're an absolute must!

Read moreMy friend and I decided to go to Hibiscus for dinner after having read the reviews, and they were truthful. The food is delicious. We tried several Indonesian vegetarian specialties and loved them, but also the bola bola tofu teriyaki (such silky tofu, such great sauce!) and the dessert of pancake/crepes filled with coconut and sugar. The staff is very kind and attentive. The place is quiet and beautiful, which serves as a refuge from the very chaotic streets of central Ubud. All in all, we liked it so much we went there twice. I’m confident if I were living in Ubud, I’d become a regular here....
