A Coconut Lover’s Paradise – Tukies Ubud is a Must-Visit!
If you’re in Ubud and love anything coconut-related, Tukies Coconut Shop is a place you absolutely shouldn’t miss. Tucked away along Jl. Raya Ubud, this small and compact shop delivers an extraordinary coconut experience that’s truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we felt a warm, tropical vibe—charming decor, friendly staff, and the heavenly aroma of coconut in the air.
We tried several items during our visit, and each one was absolutely fantastic. First up was the Coconut Ice Cream with Choc Cake—and wow, what a combination! The ice cream was incredibly creamy, rich in natural coconut flavor, and refreshingly cool—perfect for Bali’s warm afternoons. Paired with the chocolate cake, it was an indulgent treat that had the ideal balance of sweetness, texture, and flavor. The warm, moist cake complemented the cold coconut ice cream beautifully.
Next, we had the whole fresh coconut, served chilled. Sometimes simple things make the biggest impact—and this was one of them. The coconut water was naturally sweet, and the meat was tender and fresh. It’s the kind of refreshing break you crave when exploring Ubud’s busy streets.
We also tried the date ball, a small but mighty snack packed with coconut goodness. It was chewy, subtly sweet, and made with natural ingredients—perfect as a healthy bite between meals. These little bites are easy to overlook, but they’re definitely worth trying if you love coconut and dates.
One more item we absolutely loved was the “Poconut”—a unique creation that lives up to its quirky name. It’s rich, flavorful, and pure coconut heaven. Every item we tried was consistently high in quality, and it’s clear that Tukies puts a lot of care into crafting their menu.
The ambience of the shop is intimate and relaxed. Though the space is small, the setup is done so well that it doesn’t feel cramped. It’s cozy and welcoming—like a hidden gem you’ll be excited to tell others about. The tropical wooden interiors, coconut-themed decorations, and compact seating make it feel very much like a specialty coconut retreat. There’s something soothing about being surrounded by natural elements while enjoying cool coconut treats.
The customer service was also excellent. The staff were friendly, patient, and genuinely happy to help with recommendations. They were clearly passionate about what they serve and made the experience feel even more personal and enjoyable.
Tukies Ubud really stands out not only for its menu but also for the authenticity and consistency it delivers. We had tried another Tukies branch before, and this Ubud location easily lives up to the brand’s reputation, if not exceeds it.
It’s easy to walk past Tukies if you’re in a hurry or distracted by the buzz of Ubud, but I highly recommend you make the time to stop here. Whether you’re looking for a quick refreshment or a sweet dessert after lunch or dinner, this place will not disappoint.
To sum it up: • Must-try: Coconut Ice Cream with Choc Cake, Whole Coconut, Date Ball, Poconut • Ambience: Small, cozy, tropical, and perfectly themed • Service: Friendly, helpful, and welcoming staff • Value: Great pricing for the quality and experience • Vibe: Relaxed, charming, and inviting

Read moreOoffering one of the best coconut-based desserts in Bali. Their signature coconut ice cream is incredibly rich, smooth, and creamy, with an authentic and natural coconut flavor that really stands out. Unlike many other ice creams that can be overly sweet or artificial, this one has the perfect balance of sweetness and freshness, making it a truly refreshing treat, especially in Bali’s tropical heat. The ice cream is served with generous toppings, such as coconut flakes and fresh coconut flesh, which add an extra layer of texture and enhance the overall taste.
Aside from their delicious ice cream, Tukies also offers a variety of other coconut-based treats, including coconut shakes, coconut water, and even coconut-based snacks. It’s a great place to stop by if you want to experience the full range of coconut flavors in different forms. The ingredients taste fresh, and you can tell that they put effort into maintaining the quality of their products.
However, one of the biggest downsides of visiting Tukies Coconut Shop is the limited seating space and the constant crowd. The shop is often packed with customers, especially during peak hours, making it difficult to find a place to sit and enjoy your dessert comfortably. Because of the high demand, the atmosphere can feel a bit chaotic, and you might have to wait in line before getting your order. If you prefer a more relaxed experience, visiting during off-peak hours might be a better option.
Despite the crowded space, the quality of the ice cream makes it absolutely worth visiting. Whether you’re a first-time visitor to Bali or someone who loves coconut-flavored treats, Tukies Coconut Shop is a place you shouldn’t miss. The combination of rich flavors, fresh ingredients, and a variety of coconut-based options makes it a standout dessert spot that keeps people coming...
Read moreNatural Coconut Ice cream but not memorable enough
Classic Coconut Ice Cream, 56k Rupiah Very natural coconut ice cream that can taste that it’s made entirely from scratch with some coconut oil and essence (maybe vanilla?) hence the flavour taste “exquisite”but unfortunately not to my liking as it taste alittle off. Neither the creaminess of a coconut cream nor the freshness of coconut water.
However, the texture make up for it. It’s a mix between a sorbet and gelato texture. And it melts easily, which means it’s made without any ice cream stabiliser.
The ice cream also comes with alot handmade toppings that provide some texture to it as well. Plus point cos it’s all made in house.
Avocado shake Wouldn’t recommend it as it’s quite thick, they added bananas too. Which takes away the flavour of avocado.
Grass Jelly Drink Not bad. They made the grass jelly from scratch. You can taste the “rawness” of the grass jelly. A cool drink for the heat
Kueh, seed balls, red date balls The chocolate kueh taste bland, you may give it a miss. The seed balls and red date balls taste very organic, with different texture in it. It’s super healthy!
Service Very slow service, takes 10min just to clear the payment. They have way too customers that they couldn’t be bothered with you.
Overall, very expensive dessert in Bali. The price doesn’t make up for...
