I came here with my girlfriend yesterday and we ordered a double beef burger and a chicken sandwich. I was expecting the double beef burger to come out with two patties but instead it came out with one large patty which was kind of gross because it was very mushy on the inside of the meat. My food came out about 15 minutes after ordering it. My girlfriends sandwich took an additional 30 minutes to come out after mine. Take note, the restaurant was empty. I’m not sure how it took almost 1 hour for them to whip up one chicken sandwich, but it did. I had to eat before her and after I was done my burger I had to sit there and wait with her and then watch her eat her food which was extremely inconvenient. I think we sat in this restaurant for a total of an hour for something that was supposed to be quick in and out. Her chicken sandwich was barely toasted and swimming in sauce to the point where the sandwich was just falling apart and turned into a stew Midway sandwich. Read moreWe started the day with breakfast at Pisah. The Nasi Goreng was delicious and if you enjoy a dash of heat, the sambal/chilli sauce will definitely leave an impression. My wife ordered Avocado smash and commented that the Avocado was fresh. Coffee was good and thats coming from my wife who is very particular about her coffee.
We ended the day back at Pisah unintended as we already had our dinner and got drawn in by the live music. The place was empty except us and we had literally a private performance. Nice banter with the band (one guitarist and one cajon guy) and they played rock songs which was great and we thoroughly enjoyed the evening. For any westerner travelling to Ubud if you want to find a great place for coffee that is run by a local, has a community following and even roasts their own coffee on site then visit this place. It is unassuming but the owner has a passion for roasting coffee and cooking, he even makes his own bread. You might not realise it as you walk past, but the coffee is great, the food is authentic and the people have a nice vibe, there is even live music played by locals.
