Location is great - there's good restaurants just outside (Watercress just next door and Three Monkeys a few doors down), shops left and right, and easy walk to either the Monkey Forest or up to the market. We had a little noise from the live music in a bar across the road but I'm a light sleeper and it didn't disturb me. ||While Sri Aksata does not have the facilities, service or room finishings that put it in the higher quality range, it does have decent rooms in the best location for the money. Also the more expensive rooms are set in the rice paddies, so they are not closed in like some more upmarket places, and they have views which is not something that's usually easy or cheap to get in central Ubud.||Front desk service has improved since last time we stayed here.||We got a family room and it had lots of space including a large western facing verandah with a clothes dryer and two seats and a table, a separate east facing verandah and an upstairs area with two queen sized beds, windows and a separate airconditioning unit. ||The room had large windows on either side, and thick curtains on all the windows - it would be good to have some sheer ones too so light comes in but you still have a bit of privacy. ||The main bed was kingsized and had a mosquito net. There was cupboard and a small fridge plus a TV although we didn't use it.||There are lovely views to both the little gorge behind the hotel and up to Agung, and also across the rice paddies which happened to be full and lush this time. It was good to see the lovely old guy who manages the ducks is still there (we called him Pak Bebek). ||We mainly use the pool at the back and it was nice and cool and usually only had a few people there. ||There is a Danamon bank machine out the front - while it only dispenses RP1,500,000 per transaction, it doesn't have any charges so it only costs time to do a few transactions at once.||It's not perfect but these following things are not major and very tolerable for the price:||Written contact is non-existent - I wanted an upstairs room so I contacted them after booking to ask if I could have one. I got no reply so I cancelled and booked a family room as I knew both of those were upstairs. It would have freed up that room for a family if someone had been able to help me.||I also got a few dodgy-looking messages after booking through booking.com, asking me to confirm my booking via a link. I contacted SA through booking.com and also via external email to ask if these were legit but didn't receive any reply so I just ignored those messages. I had no problems checking in so if they were legit, they weren't needed.||Bathrooms need a deep clean. They are cleaned daily but there was a buildup of mould in the shower and bath area that could have easily been removed after a soak with a bit of bleach. ||Air conditioning did struggle a little in the large family room against the heat coming in through the windows (even though we kept the curtains closed when we were out to keep it cooler) and the high roof. ||Family rooms could do with a lounge out on the verandah rather than seats.||Family rooms are not suitable for smaller children as the upstairs area does not have railings that would keep them them from falling through. ||Monkeys come through most days. They made quite a mess next door as the people left food out on the balcony, and I could see them trying to open the room doors to get in, presumably after more food. The staff are aware and move them along but can't stop them totally.||Wifi is still rubbish. ||The hotel often seems to have tour groups staying for a single night - no problem with that but the buses they travel in often take up the little parking area and it can be hard for other transport to pull in.||Traffic can be bad sometimes but that's...
Read moreGuys, beware of this resort . Unreliable, unprofessional and unethical. Had worst experience with Ms Novi who was the one handling our reservation .||I am a senior cabin crew from an established airline and this is my most horrible nightmare experience.||Air Aksata overall, Firstly there is no wifi in the room, the shower and washrooms are broken and you will have bad drainage smell.||It started with , me and my husband were on the flight preparing to land in Bali, luckily we had internet inflight , 2hrs before landing , Ms Novi whatsaped my husband and told him that the booking has been cancelled from their end as they have maintenance issue of the Air conditioner .||My husband requested her that the booking and payment is already made and this was a very short notice to inform us about cancellation.||After several requests, Ms Novi helped us to book a place for one night at nick pension ubud(two separate beds for me n my husband on honeymoon).and we did not complain for it but accepted as these unfortunate situations can happen.||The second day we were moved to Sri aksata where for service recovery she offered us a 30min cheapest massage voucher and a bigger room which we did not demand or request for. All we wanted a normal standard room.||After going to the bigger room, the shower was flooded ,drainage was blocked , and wifi was unavailable. Maintenance guys were in our room for hours and they declared that the shower can’t be fixed. The same was informed to the reception but unfortunately nothing .||We came from trekking and were so tired and dirty , all we wanted was to basic shower but was unable to do so.||We requested her so many times to help us , but she said the hotel is full and can’t do anything.||After multiple requests and when I helplessly started crying at the reception out of frustration,I was offered a room with two separate beds where shower was working.||We were on a honeymoon and this is the worst experience of my life .||Also, unfortunately all the resorts were full as it was peak time in Bali in the month of sept .||I messaged her called her multiple times and requested for a refund as even a basic shower or wifi did not connect . She refused and did not answer my calls or the person from the reception calling her . I have attached screenshots too . I was at the reception as that was the only place where wifi was available , so many mosquitoes and insects.||Please save your hard earned money sincerely and spend somewhere else as it’s...
Read moreI stayed at this location June 2022. I still tell and think about this place WEEKLY! This was my third trip to Bali and my FAVOURITE accommodation!
Location: Fantastic! You are in the heart of Ubud. Take a left, you’re down at Monkey Forest. Take a right, it’ll bring you deeper to the town towards the markets and entertainment. Even though you are in the middle of the action, the property is so large, you CANNOT hear bikes or cars from the rooms.
Property and Rooms: I was very lucky and grateful to have been upgrade to a suite after booking a superior room. When you first enter the hotel, you have the reception and restaurant.
You then have a long and windy walk depending on where your bedrooms are. The first room types would be the superior rooms which have the first pool next to it. (Which always have towels). Then you come to a rice field and the rooms to the left are the deluxe rooms (which my bf stayed at in 2019 and says they were perfect and WiFi was decent). They are located between the two pool areas overlooking the fields. Then you have the suites.
I was luckily enough to have a further away suite which was ground level (three different levels, lower level / down some stairs pool side, ground level or First floor (quite a few steps). My suite had a terrace to the front overlooking the rice fields with seating and a plug which was great for sunsets, and to the back a beautiful small balcony overlooking the large swimming pool area! It was so so beautiful and peaceful. The WiFi… not great at all! (There’s a Starbucks across the way from this location if you need somewhere to work). The beds were super grand and comfortable and I had an bathroom with shower/bath.
Monkeys EVERYWHERE!!!!
You will not need to go to the monkey forest if you stay here. Every single morning you meet families of monkeys relaxing, drinking out of the pool, sitting on the balcony, just living their little monkey lives.
Great pool. So quiet. Lots of towels.
I absolutely loved this location and the only fault I could pick was the WiFi (solo travelling so it was quite important).
I really hope you make this your home away from home for your Ubud trip.
There’s an ATM at the entrance, they can help plan excursions for you at reception, laundry service down the street (will update with name) restaurants and shops all just outside the property!
Staff also were just absolutely...
