I don't usually give a one star review but cmon guys for the price you are charging you're definitely underperforming .
Overall Experience : Service : Not good enough for the price Pricing : over priced Food quality : No No Ambience : Blunder
First impression : Entering the place i was greeted by the the Hostess on the entrance asking for how many pax and smoking room preferences, walking down the hall some waitress greeted us to ask the same question just to tell us the direction to meet another waitress asking the same old questions.. Lack of teamwork and communication from the front end team.. Waitress are quite gimmicky, replying our order by speaking english for no reason and honestly.. i found it quite confusing.
Menu: Menu are paper-based and they've managed to keep it quite clean and that's a good thing. Food are named using classic french name with simple english descriptions and there's nothing wrong about that since its how it's done normal French restaurants.
Food quality: Bread & Butter : Bread tastes cheap & over-toasted & Butter can't be cheaper i suspect it's Anchor.. :( if you have no option left but to use cheap Butter for the price you guys are charging at least put on some effort on it! infuse it with some herbs or spice to make the experience more enjoyable or if you'dlike to stick to the classics at least don'tbe cheapon it! (what a way to start a meal.. such a disaster) Gratin de pates Rp275k++:Poor portion,Pizza Marzano could definitely do better for half the price. Seafood Rice Rp355k++:Poor portion,Tastes like.. idk man prisoners food? Perhaps you should stick to baked shrimp base stock for the main flavor without confusing it with other stocks before putting cream inside just to mix it all up like a kid experimenting inside the kitchen.. a fail experiment.
Before ending my dining experience i manage to put them to the test one last time by asking for chilli sauce since a good European restaurant shouldn't provide Chilli sauce since it's not the way European cuisine should be served And guess what? They do provide Chilli Sauce (saus samble)
Interior & Ambient: British french bistro interior with edm background music ? Ok guys you do you..
All the best...
Read moreA supposedly French bistro experience in a place considered the ground zero of Jakarta. My previous visit was many years ago when this was a bustling place. When I visited yesterday, it was desolate, although other restaurants were more than full capacity as it was day two of Eid holiday.
I have been craving duck confit, so I ordered one. The duck leg's presentation was perfect. The taste was okay but unremarkable.
My major disappointment was the wine list. I was looking for a decent Burgundy or at least a Pinot Noir to accompany the confit de canard, but they have only three entry-level reds that was WARM to the touch! It was a sign that the bottles were not stored properly! Really! When you sell a wine 3 times the retail price, you at least bestow them proper care. This in a so-called French Bistro in the poshest real estate in...
Read moreEnough representative of french food (sorry for Mr Vallier who puts reviews without arguing, ah ah). The "confit de canard" is nice and same as France, but the green beans (haricots verts) were not cooked at all ! I have ordered one starter (fried calamari) and salad : the french fries seem not home-made (frozen ?), but the fried calamari were ok. The salad was nice too. We have ordered one "tarte aux pommes" (apple pie), it is good and I liked it. The waiters and waitress are kind and they are dressed like "old" fashion in serious french restaurants. :) I will come back again later. The place and decoration are nice too. You can watch the cookers because there is one glass and it is easy to see them. To french peoples : yes, it is not 100% french food, but one of the closest I see...
