Djournal Coffee Grand Indonesia — Restaurant in Jakarta

Went around 1130 and it was not crowded at all. I was looking at the menu board when your head barista Joanna just shouted "mau pesen??" with bad attitude. There is no hello, no welcome, no good morning whatsoever. I asked if they can do piccolo or flat white and she replied "itu kan ada di menu". FYI, there is NO piccolo or flat white on the menu board, thats why I asked. She insisted at first like I dont know how to read then she realised that the menu board has been changed and piccolo was not there. No apology, just casually asked what do I want. No smile, very grumpy like she did not want to do her job. The Supervisor Galih was just next to her but did not do anything and just allow that to happen. I spoke to the supervisor after I ordered and he apologised about it.

I get it, you guys are a big brand, have a big name. But it doesnt make you have the right to be snob and arrogant. I dont care you have the most expensive equipment, but if your staff doesnt know how to serve the customer, doesnt have a good manner, I rather bring my business somewhere else. If you're addicted to coffee, come to Djournal Coffee. It's either you're more like a latte-fan person or strong-coffee lover or dark-coffee huge fan, Djournal Coffee is the right place to enjoy 'em all. I highly recommend this place, the fact that it's located inside Grand Indonesia mall makes it even more convenient, you can shop till drop then have a chill moment in Djournal Coffee and grab a coffee. Cold brew, hand brewed coffee won't matter, they are all great! Toraja Coffee, Caramel Macchiato, Piccolo latte are on the top of my list. Their food is amazing. I am crazy in love with their Chicken Avocado Wrap, Tuna Salad Sandwich, and the chees spinach sandwich. They all tasty and amazingly delicious. For those who enjoy dessert and especially if you're a choco lover, I would recommend to give a try to a slice of "ovo milo cake" it's insane! Well, it's from Colette & Lola (another member of ISMAYA Group) but you can easily find their cakes in Djournal Coffee, almond croissant is also a perfect match to your coffee. Please be mindful that this place is always full weekdays and weekends, so you might want to stand in the line to get a spot, worth it...

What a disappointment, promises a cozy atmosphere but falls short on several fronts. The coffee lacks a lot as does the atmostphere and service.

Being ready to order the lady behind the counter asks if I have a table. I respond my friend is just getting one but i still would like to order already. She asks me to step aside so the people behind us can order. What???

My friend already has a table outside but as no one is cleaning up tables, it was still full of half finished drinks, cigarette buts and tissues which we had to clean up ourselves. The whole time no one came by to take care of anything.

The coffee lacks flavor and is served excessively hot and way too much milk. More like a hot (yes really hot) milk with a zip of coffee. I guess the only reason the place was busy was that they have an outdoor area which was filled with smoke as almost everybody was smoking there and no fans at this place.

Would I ever come back here?...
