I stayed at the hotel by Capitol Lounge for 3 days weekend and it looked proper live outside so me and my friends went to the door and the bouncer refused us straight away. I went again, in the next day when bouncers weren’t working during the day and me and my friends enjoyed their cocktail menu and we were served by lovely Ella and we stayed for a couple of hours. Me and my friends decided to go back to Capitol Lounge for evening drinks in the next day. A few friends of mine (non-asians) were inside and they waited for us while we were getting ready at the hotel then we walked to the door and the bouncers refused us away again because we are Asians. I’ve called my friends to come out as we cannot get in and my friends noticed the bouncer took a couple of photos of our face at the door and he wanted other bouncers to be aware about us. If you see this bouncer at the door (Photo) - If I was you and I wouldn’t waste my time for going to Capitol Lounge. You really need to sort this out. Terrible experience!

The most amazing in-budget cocktail lounge that I have been to in Dublin so far. They have 2 floors, both serving drinks. The upstairs area is meant to be the lounge with nice seating, dim lighting and loud music. Ideal for groups looking for some fun on a budget. Regular cocktails were priced between 6-10 euros depending on what you buy. However they had the weekly offers running which at my time was 5 euros for an Irish mule. That was the cheapest mule I have ever seen. They also had these pitchers.i.e a tree of 9 cocktails priced at 55, 70 or 80 depending on the cocktail. So if you are enough people to finish off 9 cocktails, great savings there too. I would highly recommend this place.

Superb place to enjoy a good night out in the city. The staff was welcoming and was letting people in by checking their IDs. Unlike other pubs / clubs in the lane who denied us entry for being brown, the staff here was super good and definitely felt more welcoming to everyone irrespective of race and color. If you’re a tourist, definitely pick this spot when you’re around. The DJ was belting some great music, staff was lovely and they even had a 2 cocktails for 15e offer going on and we’ve made good use of it where the quality wasn’t sacrificed. Fun place and a fun night overall. Would definitely come back again!

-5 STARS! SHOCKING SERVICE & MANAGEMENT It was October 29th and I, along with my fellow classmates were celebrating our University graduation. Keep in mind, we had one drink prior to our attempted entry to the well lit and spacious venue that is Capitol Lounge. We were all magnificently presented in our suits and ladies in their dresses. Half a dozen of our group had arrived 10mins earlier and had already ordered drinks and were seated in Capitol Lounge, the other half which included myself were refused entry upon arrival by the bouncer (A doorman for those who are international readers of this abysmal review). A reason was not given by the bouncer which irked me to say the least, considering how polite I was in my approach. I asked to speak to the manager, to which he obliged after my third time of asking. She too, spat out the loathed and frankly popular phrase of "Not tonight guys".

Considering this was a Tuesday night, you would have thought any venue would leap at the sight of a small group such as ourselves who were willing to commit to spending our entire night and SPEND MONEEYYY...ON A TUESDAY! It truly is a pity how this has all turned sour. Thankfully, we managed to salvage our night (At another venue) of what was supposed to be a coming together of friends celebrating a wonderful occasion.

Unfortunately, I did not manage to catch the names of the bouncer and supervisor/manager who I had the privilege of meeting, and experiencing their CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Therefore, all I can do is recommend anyone and everyone steer clear of the...

Used to like capitol. Drank in here plenty of times. Today however will never go back. Went in had 2 drinks and then went across the road to have food.

I had a gym bag full of stuff that I knew for a fact I left in capitol before leaving. Went back to see if I fact I did leave there.

The bouncer at the door was an absolute ham head and would not allow me to go and check if I left my stuff there. I was told every single time that the cleaners would have seen if stuff was left there and there was nothing left behind.

I pleaded for a good 5 mins and was told over and over again that I could not check. My friend manage to get the attention of some people that were sitting in the same seat as us through the window of the club and it was clear as day my bag was there.

Eventually the bouncer got another member of staff to 'check'. She 'checked' but did not check properly for my bag. Eventually the manager came out and handed me my bag.

If it was not for my friend getting the attention of some people in the club through a window I would have left without my stiff. I told the bouncer there was a few hundred euro worth of stuff left behind and all I wanted to do was check if was there. That's all.

Denied every time What an absolute moron. Nearly left without my stuff because of someone's incompetence and lack of compassion.

Not one apology when the manager handed me my stuff.

Absolute...

Very off-putting experience here w/ manager. I ordered two margaritas. They were foul, pure lime juice, my throat was burning. I understand there may have been a new bartender, or another valid reason, I’m very understanding. It was the first time I’ve ever brought back a drink. I am not one to bring things back due to being anxious, and the manager at Capitol Lounge gave me every reason to be.

When I said very politely “sorry, I find these are very hard to drink, too bitter like”. She was very passive aggressive stating “we have never had any complaints before, these are our most popular” & the passive aggressiveness & attitude continued. My guest was taken aback as was I as it felt accusatory, as if I was lying. As if I was returning two full drinks for the fun of it? Also, you’ve had your first complaint now.

I waited over 20 minutes for her to return to apologise saying “I tasted them myself, they were awful, undrinkable”. Maybe listen to your customers when they make an initial complaint and don’t make them feel badly/guilty for returning acid in a glass? The margaritas were the exact same & they didn’t even attempt to redo the rim/drink. We just left and will not return.

I’d like to see you treat all your customers like this as you treat two young women, as you wouldn’t have tried that one with the group of middle aged men next to us.

0/5 for drinks and customer service...
