Serving people who care about their impact as consumers (5/5 green stars) When I first became vegetarian back in the 1987, this store was my go-to place and I think it deserves a lot of credit for being such a long-lived provider of healthy and ethical food and household items. From vegan meat substitutes to dried foods, organic teas, cruelty-free cosmetics, and alternative remedies, the store has a wide selection of items. Some of their prices seem reasonable – I compared a few prices for brand-name items and they are fairly competitive with even Amazon. However, others are a bit steep – especially some of their herbs and dried ingredients. This is strange as they are buying these in bulk and you’d imagine they could provide more competitive prices for these items than for the brand name products. However, even some of their bulk food items are reasonably-priced (organic brown risotto rice, an item I’ve never seen before, was €4.50 for 500 grams) so I think it’s a case of making sure you shop prudently. I’m giving them 5/5 ā€œgreen starsā€ for social and environmental impact. They stock some of the most ethical brands in each category – for example, Dr. Bronner’s for soap and Avalon Organics for shampoo. They also support a good number of Irish products such as Yogandha’s ethically sourced oils, Iswari organic foods, and Moodley Manor vegan protein products. It’s nice (and rare) to be able to walk into a store and find that most of the items are stocked because they have a positive social or environmental impact. This only tends to happen in small, independent health food stores and one or two chain stores like Whole Foods. It would be nice if they allowed you to use your own bag or container for bulk items – I’ll ask if this is possible on my next visit. Interested in writing green star reviews? So in a hurry, I just bought this Nordic clear Brain (Timestamp: Nov 10th, 2023) for like €28, only for me to discover on getting home that it has expired since Sep, 2023. Very funny, it was even one of the staff that picked it up for me from the shelf, I simply told them what I wanted to buy on entering their store. And unfortunately I stay very far, so physical return in the nearest days/weeks isn’t an option; I even didn’t collect a receipt šŸ˜”. Down to Earth store, please endeavour to also check expired stuff and remove them from your shelf to save customers this hassle!!! Addedum: New package received with thanks. Appreciate the swift response; Scaling my review from 1 to 5. ThanksšŸ‘Œ.

WOULDNT USE THESE PEOPLE IF IT WAS FOR FREE ,Was in here Saturday afternoon 15/5/23 after a acquaintance suggested I give the place a try ,staff were attentive professional and courteous and were not at all busy ,after a very brief chat with a member of staff about my health issue I was handed a remedy and off I went after paying the asking price happy with the knowledge I had gone to the place .but unfortunately the remedy was a total waste of money it not only didn’t work it made the issue worse so I went back with the product after only 2 days and asked for a refund like I would in any business place if I got a item that didn’t work ,I was greated by a lady which was like front of house and was very professional but would not refund the money and then asked if I could get something instead of the product but no joy there ,I commend her for the loyalty to the shop and not returning my money but there is discretion and there was none of that here ,I am dissatisfied that this happened to me as I would of liked to become a customer in the place but looks like a had a lucky escape or a unfortunate one off experience I don’t know but I guess I will never find out I am not in the habit of buying things with a no come back service ,sadly I have to say that’s me finished ever buying anything here again ,so buyer beware just make sure ask the right questions before you part with your money because like me they told me today they don’t refund ,so I thought those days were long gone when you could get away with trading like this .but it’s still live and well here ,what a waste of...

Down to Earth, indeed. Welcome to a charming cupboard of excitement and feel-good browsing. Whether you’re a vegetarian, vegan, lactose-free, or really just a person on a stroll who happens to appreciate the list of ingredients not containing tongue-twisters, don’t let this opportunity go past you. Whatever you’re looking for - vegan chocolate, dairy-free milk and cream options, gluten-free cookies, aloe Vera juice, chickpea flour, raw cocoa, spices, gemstones, supplements - you’ll find here in abundance. Rest assured that the higher prices have a reason - only the best of the best is sold here. And it’s not really just about the products either - sometimes I find myself browsing the store simply because it’s such a nice place to be. The cashiers are kind and smiling, the air smells of nuts and incense, and stepping in is like stepping into a bubble of a slower world. What a pleasure to be...
