I found it!!!!!!!!! Ok, I am going to be honest...I was being selfish and didn't want to write a review about Japanese Kitchen just to keep this place all for me. But they are so good that deserve to be known by all japanese food lovers. This is the most real japanese restaurant you will try in Dublin. The staff are all japanese, the food is exactly like the one you eat in Japan, the tastes are so authentic. I found this restaurant last week and since then I have eaten here 3 times! The place is quite small and the menu is not very extensive. But everything is so delicious. Exactly like the small restaurants I had the chance to visit when I was in Tokyo. The bento box costs only 9.50 euro and comes with the best miso soup ever (well second best, the best one was served in a Tonkatsu restaurant in Ueno) :-) I hope you enjoy as...

I thought this was a fun little place to visit - a bit like a sushi place in Japan it's very small but you can't really see the chefs at work properly because of the counter front being so high. I thought menu was fairly simple - better to stick to a few things and do them well. Presentation was very good (I'm not an expert but it looked very neat to me). Taste was fresh and clean. I suppose so long as your ingredients are fresh enough what else can go wrong? There's no cooking and no sauce to get wrong... We tried a Japanese lemonade which was in a specially made bottle which needed instructions to open. The taste didn't quite live up to the expectation.

We didn't order any of the cooked dishes but there are rice bowls with meat and seared fish dishes if that is more...

I always bring family and friends to J2, highly recommend it over two years, but what an awful attention I received today 3rd Sep 2019 at 2:35pm when I brought my mum to try your food. I admit I was over 30min trying to get parking but waitress told me that they are not serving food anymore, that they are closing. I asked if I could order take away as I was dying for a bento box and came all the way from Galway looking forward to it... as I was coming in at 2:45 to order the take away, I found that the waitress was serving miso soup and placing a bento box to 3 customers in the bar... I felt so humiliated and embarrassed, let down for the J2 I always claimed great food and service! Very disappointed and will definitely not recommend it again! Lazy...

Really good value for money - definitely one of the cheapest Japanese restaurants in Dublin!! They had a good selection of different dishes including hot food which was also tasty. The place is small and cozy. Was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the sushi, you could tell they didn’t use premade items like those frozen precooked eel packets often drenched in overly sweet sauce - their unagi had a good smoky flavour and the sauce was perfect. Would recommend!

Totally tourist trap. Definitely scam. Fake Japanese restaurant. Sukiyaki should never be severed with cooked meat. It’s not Japanese cuisine at all. Stop lying to people. The owner is Chinese and the waiters are from other countries. As I showed pictures to my Japanese friends, they all shocked by the fake Japanese food. There is no relationship with Japan except their Japanese cuisines’ name. Be honest and stop lying

I walked in, ordered at the bar, and took my food to go back at the hotel. The space is quaint and cozy, however, and the staff incredibly kind and accommodating. We had our food in short order. Do note it is cash only, so I couldn’t order as much as I would have liked. The rolls were lovely, the fish fresh, the rice flavourful and moist. The seaweed salad was perfectly seasoned, and the miso soup quite nice too.
